*Don't mind my paneling, it needs to be painted badly, too dark in the garage right now.

Picked up my weekend deals off craiglist this morning. Cabinet was $50 and gave him $20 more for the rest.

$70, what? Hold on don't think you are going to get off that easy. We need some more pics and details. O BTW, YOU **** something fierce for that score.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Last weekend, I gutted my interior and rewired my audio setup, FuzeBlock and Defi gauge controller in an attempt to chase down the ghost in the machine. Today it went from this:

To this:

To finally this:
IMG_0061_zps68607ec7.jpg

Still need to finish the wiring up front and few other odds and ends.

Then worked on this:
IMG_0060_zps3bece5a3.jpg

Then worked on moving these three gauges to where the center vents of the dash are:

Hopefully I'll have that piece finished by this weekend.

Nice job on the interior, look great.. How does that shifter location feel? It looks like it would be kinda a strange place and unnatural reach compared to being mounted lower by the driver. :dunno:

Not in my garage but on the footstool in front of the TV. My rotating beacon stopped working on my ute so I had to diagnose that and fix it, partially broken wire in the plug. I got to try out the Lion Tools (Taiwan) side cutters I picked up off the road a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the compliment. It actually only took a few drives for it to feel natural. It's one of the few things Honda actually did right on this car.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

I fought with changing the blade on my 12" compound slide miter saw last night for a full 2 hours. I got it apart and back together but the guard isn't sliding forward far enough. Gave up as the bugs were out and I was really just tired of it. Will look at it again tonight.

Ran some Cat5e through the attic, gotta love old dirty fiberglass insulation.

Was dealing with that myself a couple nights ago. Itching on my arms just thinking about it.

I pulled the steering wheel, adapter and such off of the wifes Olds to see what's going on with it. I need to find a smaller diameter wheel with less dish depth, then try to trace things out as to why the horn doesn't work,

Did some more tidying and putting away and labelling drawers, listed my dead MTD 504 ride-on mower on ebay, got to haul the other dead one out, take pictures and get that listed too. I have a shitload more stuff to find homes for.

Finished up a head gasket replace on a S80 Volvo complete with 3 broken head bolts 2 that caused the coolant leak and 1 I snapped off.

Sure am glad it wasn't a turbo.

Glued up some maple boards to be used as cabinet doors. Bought some pipe clamps as well as some 3/4" pipe for them.

Just been out to hook up the battery tender & put the cover on.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Been busy with work and along with a driveway project so there hasn't been much time in the garage. But I did get some time back on Monday. I had to replace the spring plates and u-bolts on the front axle of my trailer. During this I introduced our new pup to the shop.

And then later in the day I got a new mechanic. She explained to me that I had used the wrong screws to hold the wheels on which is why they broke.

I need somewhere better to put my pads and microfibers. The issue is I just done have much space, I really can't wait to build a single family house and have a two car minimum

I'm stuck in a 20x10 right now

Also added a new jack to the arsenal

Placed my "Quad Girls" calendar (signed by miss January) where it will be ready to go 01/01/2014. Packed up the quad on the trailer for the autumn ride tomorrow.

Worked on my bird. I was trying out a new tool I just bought, a camshaft bearing inserter. I'm not sure how the tool trucks can stay in business any more. I bought this Snap-on tool GA285 off of ebay for $99 like new and the truck wanted $250! Worked great on my Pontiac 400.

I finally started up my car after a year and a half of sitting. I still have a good bit of work, but I'm farming that out. I don't have the time or skill for some of it. At least now I can drive her out of the garage.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

drilled some big holes in my bench top and bolted down my big Olympia dual jaw vise and my bench drill press. Then I dragged out my second old lawn tractor, pressure washed it, photographed it and listed it on ebay, too many projects and not enough time so I'd rather have a bit of cash and the space back in my garage.

Tomorrow I want to wire up another flourescent light over the bench and carry on with the sort out.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Actually combined over two days

Changed a broken swaybar on my daughter's 01 Malibu. This was a fun one as it is mounted above the frame (subframe) and had to disconnect the rear end of that from the unibody structure and drop it down a few inches to R&R the bar. Ordered a used one from a junkyard in TX off an 03 Grand Am, nice southern part with no rust! It was even all nice and greasy when I opened the box, more rust prevention!
