Above is one that I have on the work bench. The compressor is isolated so I have it out where I can see it. I also have another that I will put in the clean area of the shop.

Joe,
I don't know too much about Quincey's, but I am pretty sure your water pressure shouldn't be that high :shocking:

I love the brass though.

Love it. That's just one more thing to find at a sale as plan for my 240v compressor is tucked away in corner of garage !

If any GJer just runs across 50 or 100 of those cool big gauges, please Pay It Forward and share the love with fellow GJer's at cost + ship !

Allways a good place to start... the large 12" faces are really cool and accurate.

These are mine I've saved for 40 years. They will be hooked up to my Inger-Sol Rand Type 30 compressor once the rebuild is complete. It is all painted and waiting on the 1-1/2" rings to arrive. These are Ashcroft Gauges last tested in 1961 by a tech that left his initials inside with the date tested. They are in near perfect condition.

Anyone in Chicago area, might want to check out this CL listing for $20 that includes qty 13 Ashcroft gauges.

I'd be interested in any that go to 200 psi . . . . or 5000 psi.

More rare one I'm looking for is 0 to 15 in water column (ie around 2 psi total range), that is graduated every 5.

Thanks for the info! I was curious about that since seeing that compressor. The brass ones are sharp though. But i'll take any large one for the utility of it.

So it doesn't matter what kind of gauge, water, steam, or air?

Those are standard bourdon tube type gauges. And, generally can be used on A/W/S. If used on steam they should be fitted with a "pigtail" (a simple vertical loop) and it is filled with water to protect the bourdon tube from a blast of steam.

They can be used on oxygen service also, but they must be properly degreased for that.

This is a wall display of "scrap" gauges the came off of ships plying the great lakes. The previous homeowner agreed to leave them behind for a mere $25. It was of interest to me as where I once worked, we represented Marshalltown Gauge, among others.
