After searching CL for a used box and coming up empty for weeks I went over to Viper Tool Storage in El Cajon, CA to check out scratch and dents. They had a lot of smaller boxes but only a few bigger items. I ended up picking up a 41" bottom roller and a hutch in the Lime Green color. Not my first choice, but for the price I said why not :dunno:. Grabbed them for about 70% off.

The damage to the lower was a banged up corner, top right front.

I used some wood and rubber mallet to bang it out, and some pliers to grab and bend. Without working it I would not have been able to fit the hutch. Not the prettiest, but whatever..

I haven't started loading it up yet. Just wiped it down since it was covered in warehouse dust. One thing I have noticed already, the wide drawers aren't very tall. Won't fit deep sockets standing up on organizers.

I will update with thoughts once I get it loaded up.
So far I am very happy with purchase

Very nice! I'm over in Poway thinking I might need to check them out. Was there a lot of scratch and dent to choose from?

No more big ones.. Quite a few 26", they did just get in a 33" in stainless that had a handle knocked off, only looked it over for a few seconds.

The entire crew over there was really nice. I was able to walk in and take a look around. Went a total of 3 times, they didn't have a problem with me going and looking. I assume you could call and see if they have anything new in stock, but go once and check the stuff out.

I really like that drawer layout! I only have 1 full length drawer and wish I had a couple more.

$400 for the combo. More than I wanted, but that's just cause I was feeling exceptionally cheap :lol_hitti

I thought about that, have to see if it fits upside down, or if one of the lower full width drawers fit up there. It does have bracing inside, so not the best drawer, but could consider that build in divider :D

That's a good looking box. Not a huge fan of hutches but it really completes that box.

I will see how it goes.. I would have preferred a drawered top, and might give them a call on occasion to see if they get any in. They did have a white one, but I decided I wanted to keep the colors the same.

Thanks for the compliments guys

There were a few that I might have gone for, if they ever replied back to me.. Had one answer 1/2 the questions then stop responding. Typical CL ****.

This won't be a forever box. Hopefully pickup a 72x30 someday.. I really like the look of the Cornwell boxes..

Good buy, especially for $400. I'd probably take out a drawer and get some spray paint made to color match at your local auto body place. Protect that corner from rust, ect. Not the biggest fan of look at me green, but I would have bought it too for that price. Nice job!

That is the plan. Even if I just primered it I would be happy short term. They are powdercoated, so hopefully I can match it decent with paint... I want to try and get everything straighter before I invest in color paint though. I had to throw top on and will be filling it up a bit to get it out of wifes spot in garage..

How deep is it?

Its only 18" deep.. It'll do for now..

Good price! I don't care for the drawer layout on those 41" boxes...I wish they had a deep drawer across the top.

I wish they weren't so far away from me...I've been wanting a black 72" from them...but shipping really kills it for me!

Very nice. I am sure that it will be fun moving the tools to their new home.
