So recently I moved most of my tools out of my apartment and into my father's cabinet shop. Mostly its woodworking stuff but there are some things that probably straddle the fence in usefulness for both places. I've already bought some duplicate tools, and have a couple of drills, ect... but I was wondering what do ya'll have in your home toolboxes?

Duct tape, large claw hammer, vise grips and an adjustable wrench. I can fix anything. :badteeth:

I think your question is extremely broad. Are you trying to put together a portable kit for your apartment or something? :dunno: Quite a few folks on here do pretty intensive stuff at home, so their "Home box" is basically a professional setup, just at their house. :lol_hitti

Drills, screwdrivers, tape measure and a hammer would be the most frequently required "around the house tools" for me. A spirit level, pliers, shifter (adjustable wrench) and a couple of wood chisels would be up pretty high on the list as well.

If "around the house" also includes basic car maintenance like changing oil or dropping in a new battery etc, then obviously some sockets and wrenches would be useful too.

Mainly whatever I need to fix house details. A hammer, pliers and screwdrivers with a few odd details like a cutter, handsaw and black tape. It's pretty basic stuff. It all sets in a junk drawer in the spare room.

If the problem is car, bike or plumbing I have dedicated kits to handle that stuff too. Those are packed for grab-and-go outside use as well as in my own house.

For my home tools, I basically have a shop, HF 44", table saw, drill press, paint sprayer, air compressor(s), bench grinder, router table, ect.

If you're talking about what I call "kitchen tools", I have the following for the wife (and me when I don't want to go to the garage). All this is in a 15" Plastic Keter box we bought at Wally World, for less than $10.

Hammer
Tape measure
Arc joint pliers
Screwdriver set (including P3)
Adjustable wrench (big enough to change grill tank)
Wire cutters
Needle nose pliers
Slip joint pliers
Ball peen hammer (mini)
Wire strippers
Vise Grips
Pick and hook set
6 in 1 screwdriver
Putty knife
Strap wrench (great for cleaning shower heads)
Allen Wrenches
Hex bit screwdriver
Hex bit set
Mini level
Scissors
Calculator
Volt Meter
Outlet tester
Hex shank drill bits
Precision screwdrivers
Utility knife
Cordless screwdriver (B&D lithium ion, great tool!)
Consumables (teflon tape, zip ties, electrical tape, sandpaper, brad nails, general purpose glue, superglue, wire nuts, small screws, nuts and bolts, outlet cover screws

That's completely differnent from the shop, or my travel tools.

Not much really. I keep a claw hammer, a couple screwdrivers and the keys to my shop in the house. The shop is 50' from the house and has anything I could possibly need.
