Elevator with a chain hoist, wireless control?

My father has a garage that he put an elevator in to get equipment and supplies up to his loft such as cases of oil and other stuff. He would like to use a wireless controller to make the winch work. I have an idea of how to do this but I dont work with small electronics very often. I just wanted to see if anyone out there has done anything like this.

I built a wireless winch system to wind a large spool of 1" hose for a rink. I bought the controller off ebay. They have many different kinds if you feel comfortable with the wiring. It is a couple relays and rather simple but it depends on your or his comfort level.

Unfortunately This is for a dc motor, the hoist is ac.

I bought a controller that has a couple of a and b contacts that is powered when a button is pushed on a fob and I am going to wire it in a way that they close in parallel of the corded button. The wiring is no big deal for me but I work with high voltage substations not small voltage electronics as an electrical engineer. What it also comes down to is a time vs money thing. I dont have the time to be putting into other projects but I will hopefully get this finished when the controller i bought comes in and I will try to post a video for you guys. I think you will enjoy it.

This is what I used. Been good results for several years. The setup I used also went to 12V DC but you could do what you want with it.

So power a DC coiled relay with it to control the AC.

You really need a "custom" controller for this. That one you listed is only a single channel and is on/off, not momentary.

You need two on/off channels exclusive of each other as well as momentary. This is usually done with a single pole single throw relay for on/off, and a double-pole double-throw relay to select the polarity.
