very nice!

Thank you!

Fan-freakin'-tastic! You must be chuffed (as the Brits say). It's absolutely amazing how tailor-made your truck is for the space! The bed and cab fit perfectly under your ceiling pattern. Amazing. How heavy are those diamond plate ramps? Might want to rig together some sort of hanging system. Have you had time to figure out what you will do with the electrical cords?

Chuffed, ya pretty stoked! People walk in and see and really freak out.. The aluminum ramps are not too heavy, 15-20 lbs and they provide a lower approach angle. I was concerned about driving up on a lift, these make it a breeze to get up there smoothly. I was thinking of a way to hang them. I may reposition the lift after some time with it, so want see where would make sense for a spot to hang the ramps. Cords, nope not yet..

Very cool Andrew.....

Thank ya Dave!

Time to update your thread title, as you now have a 4 car garage! Worked out great, and nice touch with the diamond plate ramps.
Thanks!

Could you run the cords up and plug into a ceiling outlet?
That may be the way to go, probably need to get the electrician back out and run it.

The pictures of your pickup reminded me of watching this pickup drag race when I was just a kid. :)
Cool, a reverse set up truck! They did a lot of wild stuff w/ the Econolines and other COE compact trucks, wheelstanders, you name it..

Quite a nice modification to the garage! And man, that Ford 'truck' is very cool!
Thanks, been a 3 month project but it's done! Glad you like the Econo!

I've been looking at this lift myself. Could you do me a big favour and let me know what sort of gap space is between your wall and the runway? Am guessing the posts on that side are against the wall. As I'm trying to workout placement ideas in mine.
Thanks.

Really enjoyed reading your thread and progress.

Very slick finish to a well thought out project.

It gives a new and novel meaning to Econoline Pickup! LOL

I appreciate your comments! Definitely sweated the details!

Neat cars!

Thank you!

To answer your question, yes, the posts are against the wall. I will be glad to take some measurements for you when I get back home.

Here's the BendPak dimension sheet for the Rev "M".

http://www.bendpak.com/BendPak_HD-9_Series_Four_Post_Lifts_REV_M.pdf

When you figure the dimensions, note that the power unit won't be on the left front as shown in the dimension page; it will need to be on the right rear. What that does is makes the powered side runway (which is fixed) on the RIGHT, and the movable runway on the LEFT.

Mine is currently set up with the movable runway in the narrow setting (37 1/2" between runways). So when I give you the measurement, keep that in mind.

I love this. I live around the corner from you in Addison and would love for you to bring the 'Conoline to cars and coffee.

Quick question, What wheels are those you put on it? I've seen them in a magazine but can't put my thumb on it. Would love some for my 93 Flareside

Thanks! Cars n Coffee is a lot of fun, I try to make there every month!

The weels are from a small wheel shop in California, PS Engineering Vintage Wheels. They are the Kidney Bean wheel, 17x7 and 17x8. The owner builds them to order - they have an interesting one off look and finish to them. http://www.psvintagewheels.com/products.html

Yes as Dubber mentioned, I had the wheels built for my '56 Thunderbird; when that car went its (extended) stay at the paint shop on steelies, I bolted the PS Engineering wheels up to the Econo - they suit it pretty well too.

Gap space between the wall and the runway (movable runway, set at narrow setting) is about 21 1/2"-22".

Those night shots are great. Someone who doesn't know you walking by would take a minute to figure that out i'm sure.

Andrew,
Stumbled on your thread here. Awesome job on the garage, lift, etc!
I know I've seen at least one of your cars at Cars/Coffee.
I'm at Independence/Legacy, probably not too far away from you.

I like your loyalty towards the blue oval! Great job on the Econoline, very cool truck! I like the clean look of your foxbody as well.

Thanks! I must pass credit to the previous owners of the 1961 Ford Econoline p/up, it was built up in Washington state, then I got it from a collector in Alabama. I changed the wheels, new steering wheel and added seat belts and other tidbits.

I have been working on my '56 Thunderbird, just back from the paint shop.

Yes they are 911 wheels from a narrow body, 95 to 98 model 993. I'm always trying different things as to wheels. I think I have had 20 something different sets of wheels on it over the yrs, from OE 15x7 phone dials, to these 18x7/18x10s..

I got the '56 Thunderbird up on the lift this weekend. Changed the diff fluid and checking over the Airride suspension as it gets some initial miles on it.

I'm over in Parker, seeing everything you fit in your garage is amazing. Especially knowing how builders neglect garage space in this area.

Thanks. This house is everything I wanted, a one story small sq ft place w/a big garage.. and the lift gets me an extra car inside.

Parker?? Cool, I lived in Parker for about 6 yrs, nice open spaces, plenty of room for garage and anything else you want!

Did you put the air system in? What system did you go with?

I installed the air suspension in the 'Bird. It's my 2nd install on a vintage Ford, first was a '63 Falcon. As to which system, yes as mentioned, Ride Tech (Air Ride Technogies). CoolRide bags up front and ShockWaves in the rear. To keep as much trunk space as possible, I put the air tank under the car next to the fuel tank and the compresssor and valve bodies in the RH well of the trunk. Ride Tech have a great product and plenty of help on their website and tech forum.

Love the garage and the cars--we just moved from Plano (close to Chuck in Whiffletree) and are building in Lucas. I'm a Cars and Coffee regular as well with my Cassisrot (purplish copper) 928S4 and the STIGWGN (a CTS-V wagon).

Thank you, glad you like it. I used to live in Parker (next to Lucas)

So you should also come out for Morning Maniacs, close to Lucas, Whole Foods on Stacy Rd. every Saturday except the first weekend of the month. It's a small group of 20-30 rides of all types. First thing in the morning. http://www.morningmaniacs.com/

And what a coincidence, my current drool over vehicle is.. a CTS-V wagon!! I sure would like to get one sooner or later! What color is yours? Daily or special occasion car?

Mine is Thunder Gray/Black Interior with a manual transmission and it is my daily driver (more like to and from DFW driver). It is easy to spot because of the plate....STIGWGN.

Will have to check out the Motor Maniacs

Wow. That is stunning in white. Congrats!

Thanks. Although I had been sorta looking online a while, seeing mostly black and red ones at dealers, I was more dreaming than serious... Then last weekend before Christmas, I stumbled on this wagon on Craigslist of all places. Turned out to be part of an estate sale. 6400 miles, and basically a new car. Too good to pass up. I really like the white too.
