Snap on roll cart paint issue

Does anybody know what process they use to paint the snap on roll carts? Is it a single stage finish or do they use a clear topcoat?

The reason I am asking is because last week I received a krsc416 in green and I had noticed a small dab of orange paint about an 1/8" in diameter. It feels like it's under some sort of topcoat as it can't be picked away. Mentioned it to my dealer when it arrived and he said he would get me some touch up paint, cool.

Today I was applying some wax to the cart to help protect my investment and as I got closer down to the cart I started to notice more orange paint. The whole thing seems to be covered in a fine orange over spray that can't only be seen up close and also buried under a topcoat. I tried to contact my dealer but wasn't able to get through.

Is this a normal thing or did I get a special unit with a unwanted 2tone paint job?

id say it's over spray under what ever clear top coat they use, you can probably wet and dry it back to cut through to it but personally if I brought it new I'd be kicking up **** to my dealer. however if it I had the time and it was a non warranty item I'd go over it with some real fine wet and dry like 2200 or 2000 and see if that removes it and then either give it a coat of clear or some heavy coats of wax/sealer.

I would also get the dealer to inspect it closer, assuming you bought it as a new box. They should take care of the problem for you.

Just got off the phone with my dealer and he is going to come by with his manager and check out the cart.

The box was purchased brand new and waited a month for it to be built.

They are powdercoated, not painted.
If they are powder coated would all surfaces not get covered? I have noticed a lot of bare spots inside the box which I can understand if painted but powder coated you wouldn't think there would be any bare spots?

Either way I ended up with a credit from snap on for $200 towards more tools.

Talking about at the corners? That's where powder coating falls short due to a faraday effect. They'd need to do a touch up application specifically aimed at those areas after the initial bake on but apparently that's not something they see as necessary.
