After dinner I did a little junk cleanup that consisted of emptying out a 5 gal. bucket that was full of bent nails, rusted bolts, stripped nuts, dry leaves and dead bugs ...

With that job successfully completed, I tore open an old desktop PC that has been sitting around for several years and busted up the hard drive so it can go out in the trash on Tuesday!

Worked on my friend's bike from 4:30 to 10:30. We added a fuse block with a switched relay, converted reflector mounts to add a pair of LED lights, used Pex on the cables for protection, changed out the stock 1.8 gallon gas tank for an IMS 4.6 gallon tank with a pump set-up for pulling fuel from the lobes.

All in all a lot done!

This is how we disposed of our last desktop, after retrieving any valuable materials from inside. I considered mounting it to a plaque and presenting it to our IT guy here at work :lol_hitti We channeled our inner "Office Space".

Moved my tool box back in from work. Got laid off. Time to step out of the wrenching game I think.

Dragged my metal chopsaw out to cut a couple of lengths of old galvanised steel water pipe up to launch firework rockets from as we have a fireworks party here tonight for our neighbours. In the UK we celebrate Guy Fawkes Night each year on 5th November, this remembers a chap called Guy Fawkes who got caught packing the cellars underneath the Houses of Parliament with barrels of Gunpowder as part of a plot to blow up the government of the day in 1605 (about 25 years before my house was built!)

That is a beauty. I attended an auction this past summer for Los Alamos National Labs equipment where they had several of those but they sold as a lot (minus vise). One guy opened up at $500 each X6 then eventually bought them for $675 X6. I went and spoke to him about them afterword and he had plans for all in his engine shop but he felt they were worth up to $1k each. Out of my league but they are >$2k new so I guess he did good.:dunno:

Yeah' i got mine for $550 delivered on a flatbed. A bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion, and now i finally have a good place to mount my wilton.

Re: What did you do in your garage today?

Is that a real boat that floats and drives?

Well today, I put together a tool kit of basic hand tools for my friend to use at his new house. He had asked to borrow my portable box (Craftsman USA, Snap-On, SK, Williams), and I know how he treats tools and how he loses stuff. So I told him I'd make up a nice box for him. I put in all the common sizes in both metric and SAE for sockets and wrenches. Along with an unbranded 3/8" ratchet, a pack of Pittsburgh adapters for all socket sizes, vise grips, pliers, screwdrivers, a torpedo level, measuring tape, hammer and some allen wrenches. 90% of it is Chinese made mixed brands like Ace, Do It, True Value, Harbor Freight/Pittsburgh, Task Force, etc.. I put it all in an empty Hitachi sawzall case I had laying around.

I finally got around to insulating the garage and putting up OSB. I finished it off by covering the OSB with vinyl. I am avid collector of old signs and vending machines so I thought the vinyl siding would help to highlight the vivid colors from the old signs. Now I just got to start getting the signs up on the wall.

Wired up an outlet and installed another fluorescent light in the Can-Am garage. This facilitated the ensuing 'puttering' that lasted an couple of hours :)

Re: What did you do in your garage today?

Welded and installed a fence gate and latch.
Painted the gate, painted the cedar slats for the gate.
Cut a 1" Arbor plate for the new HF 20 ton press.
Cut a header for a decorative mirror for a neighbor.
Pulled the wife's front tires off and got the snow tires on.
Cleaned up a piece of 10" channel iron that will be used as a base for a tube bender. (Thanks Gords Garage)
And finally told my neighbor he was using my ladder wrong.

Re: What did you do in your garage today?

Showed two of my neighbours round my garage as we had all of our neighbours over for a fireworks party. Found out one has a lathe and milling machine and also collects WWII Militaria like me although he's also into antique firearms and has a collection of both de-acts and fireable stuff, just bought a Mosin-Nagant, about to buy a Bren, and has all sorts including 1916 vintage Lee Enfield and so on. Got an invite round to view his collection. He's also got barns stufffed with assorted old cars and "stuff" Stood in their enjoying a beer and shooting the breeze. My other neighbour is about to have an oak framed garage put up to house his growing collection of Porsches, he also wants to build a Lotus & type kit in there so it seems i'm in good company. I agreed to go and help him roof his garage in slate in return for his brother showing me how to lay slates so i can do my own garage roof.

Re: What did you do in your garage today?

Plumbed in a laundry tub in the basement. Didn't start the job until 8:30 or so.

I didn't realize I was out of solder until AFTER I turned off the water and cut into the cold water line. And now all the hardware stores were closed. Oops.

Turns our Walmart carries a few basic plumbing supplies including a solder/flux pack. :lol_hitti

Nice looking VMC81 RC machine you got there and the coolers. I have a 7up collection going.

Nicely done and also a great collection. Mines not as tidy and detached which is inconvenient in the Winter, but perfect in the summer with all the dust I raise and fumes I produce.

Re: What did you do in your garage today?

After stripping the threads on the bleeder on the slave cylinder for the F150 clutch, all I had were socket allens on hand. It was one of those deals that when you think it may happen it will. Should have drove down to the farm and got some short allen wrenches. Now I have a set of allen wrenches long and short. American made from Ace hardware and a new slave cylinder from Orielly. The F150 moves under its own power for the first time in six or seven years. Sunday clean the tanks so we can put gas in them and wean it off the coffee can gas tank! My son in law is very excited about the progress he should be driving it soon.

Not my garage... Installing a new chamberlain whisper drive yesterday...

But I had to snap a pic and share... One of those moments you need to be sure all your tools are squared away tethered and not about to get butter fingered ;)

It was more taken for color match ;) the silvers are very close... As are the yellows... It amused me...

My best friend installs garage doors for a living, and he sent me a pic from the garage of a local farmer. He had a '11 Porsche GT2 RS, '12 Porsche 911 Turbo, Nissan GTR and highly modified newer Chevy pickup.
