I'm off between Xmas and New Years and plan to spend a bunch of it in my shop, working on my cars - mostly by myself, but might have a couple visitors with cold bevies!

Hopefully get back to wiring my garage and get some lights up. Been sick for past 2 1/2 weeks, and run down.

Rebuild the transmission on my E-Type -- that will take a few weeks until I source all the parts, but it's time to start.

I have a few tweaks to the garage, hang some stuff up, etc. but then it's back to the Chevelle (finally!)
Just an oil change and tune up (and hopefully some driving if the weather supports) first, but then I'll drag out the spare engine and use some of my new Christmas tools and start tearing it down...

Busting my hump to get a few things wrapped up in there.
Apparently, per my other half, it is our turn, so there is gonna be a New Years Eve Gathering in the house. I strongly suspect myself and a select group of gents will at some point adjourn to the Poker table out there, so I want things looking good.
I also want to finishing working ON the shop so I can begin working IN the shop. I need to get the '40 up on jackstands so that I can begin a short list of winter chores on it.
Sure is nice having a warm shop tho!

The in-laws are coming up for the week so I'll be doing an oil change and front brake job on their Malibu. Then I'm putting rear struts on my Maxima. Afterwards, I'll be getting alignments for my two cars (they're both pulling to the side). I'm looking forward to "waiting" at Sears for the alignments to get done as I like to walk the tool isles. I'm also going to go buy about 50' of 1" black pipe (or maybe copper) to pipe my air compressor from it's new location over to my ceiling mounted air hose reel. BTW, if any of you are thinking about getting an air hose reel, I highly suggest it. It's been great not having to coil up an air hose after each use.
Other than that, I'm now on year 4 of my 5 year basement remodel plan. I only work on it during my Christmas break so that's why it's taking so long. This year, I'm going to put a gas fireplace in the basement (already ran the gas line over to it). I'm also going to finish insulating and run electrical and then put up sheetrock (maybe even double sheet rock by my stairwell to cut down on the noise upstairs).
Finally, I'm also working on my garage to get it more tidy so I can get all four cars into the garage this winter. I had to drill new holes in all four of my shiny new Gladiator cabinets but I at least just spent $3 on lag bolts and not $60 on the special Gladiator track. The track is fine if you're going to be moving things around but I doubt that cabinets over a bench will ever need to be moved.

inspector signed off on the framing a week ago and now I have to get the trim and sides up, hoping to get that done before New Years so I can start the new year with a brand new big garage, not sure I will be able to finish in time but that is my plan.
If it rains, I will organize my new garage instead, most of my tools are still at our old house and I have to get them over here before New Years when the new tenants move in so I will be busy but for some reason I am looking forward to it.

Depends if it ever quits snowing or not,TWO FEET and counting!This will be the first white Christmas here since 1996,apparently only the 8th since the 1900's!Hopefully the flood when it melts in a week or two will not be too destructive...

I'll try to finish moving stuff in, complete the baseboard and corner protector installation, paint under stairs, hook up the compressor and run the lines, install the drop down florou lights, install the drop down ext cords, install the security camera, install the emergency lights, etc....

Gotta work but I was SUPPOSED to be working on my 240 project... instead I have a 200sx that pitched a crank sensor. CS is in the bellhousing on the car and the sensor decided to freeze up in the bellhousing/crumble. The connector end broke flush with the bellhousing and now I don't really have much of a choice but pull the ****** so I can get whats left of the sensor out. Tried all kinds of junk to get it out (running a screw into it & prying on that, extractor, etc, etc) but I'm stuck taking it out. No biggy.. found a inner boot on a 1/2 shaft leaking so that'll get replaced while I'm at it and some other fun junk. Sigh...

I need to replace the infamous leaking lower intake gasket on my 98 Chevy 1500, 5.0. I caught it just in time; it is leaking externally. Has 66,000 miles.
I plan on wiring my shop, also prepare the door frames to add the highlift garage door kits to the other 2 doors (completed the first door 2 weeks ago), oil change on my 05 GTO. Or I might just stay in the house and play Wii for my 9 days off...

I'll be putting up drywall, so I can finally park in my garage. With -30 degree temperatures (-45 with the windchill) it's becoming a nuisance to park outside! Not to mention shuffling vehicles around every time it snows so I can clear the driveway!
Well, tried to get the holidays off to an early start...even though the kids are STILL here....
I was ready to do a few things in the shop....but I had to take one of my kids with me (an unspoken deal with the wife)...well, things where OK for about 5 minutes, but - no sooner had I turned around, he's got a sander up against my NEWLY PAINTED CHALLENGERS DOOR "pretending" to sand - just like I showed him! End of garage time!!!!
So, we're all inside again... and there's not much to do for anyone with these temperatures, so - being the good parents we are- we let them open some Xmas presents (from far-away relatives the wife says...). Two light-sabers later, there's a scream from the play room....someone has gotten a light saber to the head...
Please Santa....come soon....and take the kids.

Enjoy the young’ens when you can, they grow up so quickly. In all but a few short years you’re going to miss all that commotion! Trust me I know all too well!
A fine piece of advice OCG, although one that's hard to remember when you're in the eye of the storm!
After we left the shop we came inside to play with thier STARWARS toys, go in the HotTub with our Toques/Stocking Caps on, make cookies and play Dad-the-horse. My back is sore....and I'm still wishing for Santa!
Yeah I'm in need of some garage time too. I worked my ars off the last 4 months building and finishing the garage. Now it's time to get some work done over the holidays. The cars are calling. Then I'm off to Barrett Jackson on the 11th

I won't have alot of time, but i will have a few days off @ home around New Years, was supposed to go to NY and watch the ball drop, but our plans kinda got fizzled out. But what time i do have i will finish up polishing my mini truck and installing the new air-dam.
