Not in, but behind it. Cleaned up all the scrap metal, scrap wood and cut the firewood that was drying there. Raked up the leaves and leveled the dirt nice and even. For the first time since I moved here in '95, there is nothing laying behind the garage. Feels good.

Started the day off with zero plans, no diagram and not much skill. $65 and a pile of wood later, I made a workbench. 47"x28"x10'. Came out better then I ever thought it would.

Finished the garage ceiling last night and put in the scuttle hole cover today. Then I put together some heavy hangers.

Yes, for turnout gear at work. When we wash gear and it's wet, it's too heavy for regular hangers. I came up with this design a few years back.

The hooks allow you to clamp on to the gear from a various of positions, what ever way allows it to dry faster. I also put a set of spring clamps on everybody's lockers mainly to hang gloves on so they dry out faster.

Yep, got it mocked up and painted, need to clean all the overspray out of it and reinstall it perhaps tomorrow. Finally have somewhere to put it so I'm not leaning on the floor :beer:

Yep, this is a Steevo clone... why mess with success.

However, I am adding my own little twist to the benches and storage units I am making.

I changed a propane torpedo heater from having the manual push button valve to having an electronic solenoid.

The purpose is so that my powder coating oven controller can control the heater via turning the power on and off without requiring the gas flow to be manually started via the original push button.

Now to finish the whole oven and get work for it!!

made room in the garage to push the Audi in to figure out why it stopped running on me. Took the front end apart and found I had no teeth left on the timing belt at the crank gear. :wtf:

This ain't good, I'm thinking one of the cams locked up for some reason. stopped working on it to go watch the USC Stanford game.

Finally spray painted the recumbent bicycle frame I took apart over a month ago. Got a good temperature yesterday to do it in. I hope to assemble it so my wife can ride it at least a couple times before snowfall.

Got the Maple tops for the new bench refinished this week and mounted them to the frame yesterday.

I still have to put a notch in the top for the rolling table where a leg for the new bench is, that will allow the table to roll completely under the new bench. Right now it sticks out a couple of inches.

I started to cad up a new garage layout last winter, and then my computer crashed. All of that is still on the old computer. I would like to find a better spot for the Quincy compressor stuffed into the corner......

And a better place for the mill to occupy. I can still pull my truck in with plenty of room, but if I have the plow on I can't walk around the front or the back. Something needs to move! Seems like this is a never ending problem at my house. At least the saw is on wheels so it can easily be moved.

I love the maple top on your new bench. I have been debating back and forth whether I want to go maple or steel. I think I am leaning toward the maple again after seeing yours!

Went to install a outlet in the garage to power my ceiling mounted heater and I found out that the power in the garage is not fused. Previous home owner was a idiot.

Same here. Previous owner already had 240v in the detached garage, yet still ran a 120v line out there. I ripped it all out and rewired the whole thing to code.

They can be a pain.

Serpentine belt, tensioner and idler pulleys. Time to buy the serpentine tool set for the next time.
