Snap on hammers any warranty??

a few years ago, I bought a set of orange plastic faced hammers.
I've never used them until this week when installing a long arm lift kit on my Cherokee and needed to tap in a couple things without marring the new finish.

Every dang one of them just crumbled into pieces. I bought them new off a snap on truck, but are these warrantied or anything? The dealer I bought from is no longer around, and I'd need to track down a new guy, but thought I'd ask here first.

Talk about a waste of money, total pieces of junk. It's not like I was hammering like with a dead blow, just tapped a couple chrome pieces to slide them on a shaft and they fell apart.

I would imagine they have a warranty same as anything else...lifetime as long as it is not misuse

They do, and they crack when they get old. My dealer replaced my no issue.

Mine disintegrated and I warrantied it no problem. If you don't have a dealer I'm sure you can mail it in and they will take care of you. Let us know how you get on.

Mine all disintegrated also...It took the SO guy over six months to replace them..In the mean time, I used my HF mallets..Go figure...

I had orange ones that did the same, my SO guy replaced them with reds and they seems much better, no issues in several years.

seems like a common thing. I have had 3 of them crumble too. One was an orange ball peen..one was an orange piston hammer, and one was a black dead blow. Dealer replaced them without any questions.

the older ones that are a solid color all do it any driver will swap them

End fell off my brass hammer just looking at.Snappy replaced it no questions asked. I think everybody who has had this happen had the old trusty cook made hammers. I don't think they make the new style dead blows SO has.

I've replaced one orange one have another to do as we'll. SO never had a problem doing it and also had a whole box of brokers ones so I assume its common.

I've had 5 of them replaced in the past two years, blue and orange dead blows. No problem at all. The new ones are much better.

Yep the dead blow ball piens are lifetime, had one of those swapped out as well. Had a Blue Point dead blow dual face replaced with a Snap-on, as they don't make the BP any more. The website doesn't mention any warranty for BP regular ball piens, so I would assume your dealer is correct.

The thing with dead blow hammers is they all get hard and fall apart eventually, regardless of brand. The good ones last 10-20 years in my experience, depending on use and exposure to chemicals. Makes the Snaps a pretty good deal, IMO.

It's those winters I'm guessing. We don't even have moisture in the air here. Only have problems in the summer with (some) unopened caulk gun adhesive containers.

I have had a BP ball peen replaced under warranty after many years of use.

Oh, and I've had several SO deadblows disintegrate on me. The new ones are much better.

He lied to you.

As said above, the orange (and solid color) plastic hammers crack and disintegrate over time. It was a well known defect, and Snap On happily replaces them. The new red/black ones are so much better.

my neighbor took my hammers to work and his snap on guy traded me out for new red/black hammers, plus took my broken screw driver, ratchets, torx bits and a few others and repaired or replaced them all!!
Hell of a deal, no doubt I'm pleased with the warranty I've never ever used. I've probably spent over 20k on new tools over the years with them, glad to see the warranty was no hassle

I know it's already been mentioned, but my BP ball pein was warrantied by my driver. The head obviously was fine, but the wood handle started to splinter (used to do a lot of wailing with one). Easy fix, right? I figured, hell I'm paying for the SO service, might as well use it...

Well my Snap On dealer is shady sometimes. If he's not trying to sell a new toolbox, scanner, or another high price item he doesn't really get excited.

Same thing happened to my Snap On Orange dead blow hammer. My dealer replaced the orange hammer with a red one. No charge.
