Interesting video. I would have liked to see a normal speed walk around of the milling machine. It looks small compared to what I am use to seeing at work. I like that. I have a small garage and would like to have the capability to mill things. I am ignorant to machining, but would like to have the capability to support work on my Camaros. Would a machine of that size handle projects that I may come across? Loaded question I know, but hey.

Very nice
I have made replacement draw bars as well when I have needed to
I get round stock the size I need formthe bar. Thread the end, then I take the hex stock and drill the center out. Heat it on the BBQ a bit to slip it over and rosette weld the end.

Same trick making the piece longer so you can shorten as needed

I had the piece of hex stock in my stash, otherwise I would have just used 3/8 rod for the old hex head. I didn't have anything 3/8 in my stash.

Good job. Only suggestion I could make would be when you are centerdrilling sock for the center. Be carful on long, unsupported piece like that. It is best to chuck it up close in the chuck, face, center drill and then pull the piece out for it to sit in the tailstock center. Minimize runout and saftey, chances of the bar bending and becoming a spinning hazard. Looks like you are all ready for a DIY power draw bar, just get a butterfly impact and a method to rig it up. Neat little mill.

I could not get it thru the chuck any more than I did, so I test turned it on and it was close enough to center since I was going to turn it way down anyways.

Thanks for the tip though.

Yes, I will be designing and building a power drawbar as a project sometime soon. The way the motor is mounted makes it a bit tough to do, but I should be able to design around it.
