Hello everyone. I am finally building the garage I have been thinking about forever. It is 28x48 stick built with approx. 600 sq.ft. Mancave upstairs. I left one bay open for a future lift. Below are pictures of the project so far:

Wow.....Super looking garage!!!!!! I like the colors you have went with along with the stone work too.

Why the decision to go with smaller windows on the back dormers though instead of going with the same size as the front dormers?

None the less, I'm jealous as hell  I'm really looking forward tyo some more pics.:thumbup:

Dream...I forgot to mention...Welcome to Garage Journal. Four just joining and posting what you posted, you knocked it out of the ball park for sure. Just out of curiosity, what sort of "toys" are going to take up space in their new home?

Why the decision to go with smaller windows on the back dormers though instead of going with the same size as the front dormers?

Two reasons:

1. The upstairs has a bathroom going in with a shower in on dormer. To have enough wall clearance, I decided to reduce the window size and did the other to match.

2. COST:scared: Those triple red windows were not cheap:sad:

Toys? I am just your typical GM fanatic, especially Firebirds and Corvettes:D

My 76 Fire-Am

79 Formula 400-4spd. one of 367 built. At the paint shop waiting for me to pick it up.

69 Corvette 350 4spd

2005 Corvette and 2010 Camaro

Their existing home. An addition we built in 2005. The newer ones will stay in there, the older ones to the new garage.

Thanks for all of the positive comments.

Small visual update: they installed the garage doors today. All of the plumbing and wiring is now installed as well. It is supposed to get up to 50 degrees this week so there may be hope for the outside concrete pad to be poured. Hopefully the siding can be finished up as well.

Finally some updates. The weather has been horrible for so long it really delayed construction. Also changed the AC/Heat setup to a ductless system with two units upstairs and two down. 19 sear rating. Everything should be very energy efficient in this building.

Closed cell insulation encapsulating the entire upstairs room, roof and west wall. Blown cellulose on the rest.

Outside is waiting on Concrete and light installation.

All insulation finished:

And a window installed upstairs to overlook the lift bay

Things kind of took a back seat but I am getting back on track with the garage. We now have the flooring, kitchenette and bathroom in the upstairs as well as the bathroom functional in the garage. Here are a few pictures.
