one set even had a craftsman industrial wrench in it

every craftsman tool there was usa except for the crossforce ratcheting wrench that was china. They even had usa torque wrenches.

Do you people actually use the crossforce stuff? My biggest turnoff to them is you can't link the wrenches, and they don't seem to provide any real benefits?

Did you see if they have the metric set?

Yep only bad thing is it does not come with the 17, and it skips the 9mm but has everything in between

Thanks for posting this. I need to get some tires for the wife's Explorer and the Sears Outlet store is about a block away. . . .two birds, one stone.

Thanks OP...

I picked up a set of standard and metric 6 point wrenches, I also picked up the cross-force ratcheting wrenches( standard) for $19.99 (ROC). They didn't have 6 point sockets so I passed, I have plenty of them.

I've been wanting to try some ratcheting wrenches and since all the cheaper ones( all I can afford) are made in ROC, I figured I would try these out, they seem decent but time will tell.

Your welcome glad to give back

I was tempted to buy the crossforce wrenches but passed bc they were made in china and I am hoping to track down a USA set.

Oh buy the way I scored a USA 3/8 Torque wrench

We only have sears outlets in a kmart around here. I'd go. Always good to get excellent quality tools for a marginal cost. But...you know...take care of them because you know where the replacements will be coming from.

Please don't start another 6 point 12 point thread.

Yeah you know whats funny is as much as I hate them, they are still an essential tool. Funny story (Flash back) I was at a junk yard and my uncle and we were trying to take a flex plate off and I went to go grab the appropiate socket size and went to take it off and low and behold it was fastened by 12 point bolts.....

Thank the good Lord I had my 12 point wrenches

Oh and did anyone see those quick release extensions??? They are USA made, but I went to try it out and I could not even get a damn socket on any of the extension bars at the store. Am I just not smart enough???

The outlet near me had a slew of USA craftsman stuff. 1/2" breaker bar, 1/2" torque wrench, hex wrenches, torx bits, 3/8" deep sockets, 6 pt wrenches, 12 pt wrenches, socket sets, extensions.

Here's what I got for $60.

I picked up a 8pc deep impact set (metric/standard; chinese) for $15 and a Nextec Rotary for $48. Didn't need any more wrenches.

Damn I wish my sears outlet had 6 point USA deep well. My sears only has 12 point

How much did the deep wells cost??

Deep wells were 12pt at 14.98 for the sae and metric set. 9.98 and 12.98 for the wrenches. 1/2" flex bar was 14.98.

I just picked up the 1/2" flex bar. It ended up being $17.** after tax. The 3/8" deep SAE/MM sockets were a killer deal, but I didn't need them.

The only other deal that I saw that hasn't been mentioned is the Outlet by me had some Homak 27" SE Series 4 drawer cabinets for $199. Not the best box in the world, but a pretty good box for somebody just getting going.

Only thing I grabbed today was a flex 1/4" driver for $6. They had a whole bunch of socket sets, wrench sets, and breaker bars. They probably had more Torx sets than anything else though.

Managed to snag a set of 6-point metric and 6-point SAE combo wrenches, a bunch of locking extensions in both 1/4" and 3/8" drive, some folding metric/SAE hex and torx keys and 1/4 flex drive handle - all USA made!

The combo wrench sets were only $14.88! At that price I went back in a bought a second SAE set as a gift for a friend. All he has are 12pt wrenches. I would've gotten him the metric set too, but he only wrenches on his old '60's Mercury.

How do you even use those damn things, I tried them out before I bought them and I could not even get a socket on any of them :dunno:

So I had to pass.

I've lost track of how many times I've exchanged a broken 1/2" craftsman breaker bar. It's about the only thing craftsman that I've broken, maybe split a socket once. I finally scored a used SO 18" bar. Figured if my dad couldn't break his 24" snap-on, I'll be ok with the 18".
