I have an older model Snap-On sand blast cabinet, and the gloves were bad when I got it. I did buy a pair of gloves from TIP in Ohio, but they are too big for the opening, and I am not certain if I should try to cut them down, or try to find the correct gloves for it. I am also missing the dust bag. Checked with Snap-On, and the gloves are $80 and the dust bag is $150! It is a model YA433.. Does anyone know who makes these for Snap-On?

I recently ran into the same problem with my SO cabinet, and after the run around from my dealer , and wrong gloves coming in twice, I bought the TP gloves and retaining rings. I modified the openings to match the TP rings and gloves.
While at it I aslo ordered their "make your own cabinet kit" to upgrade the gun and siphon tube. This also included a foot pedal for operation that I find much easier to use than the trigger type gun the SO cab had. The cabinet now works better than it ever did.

I knew that this had been discussed on the forums before, but couldn't find the thread with the search function. After making this post, I decided to try Google, and it found the original post... Using the information in the original post, I located the manufacturer, and attempted to contact them. The phone goes to only a message machine, and I waited to hear from them to no avail for today. Then I started looking for sandblast cabinet gloves using Google again, and I found a company in Texas that claims to be the manufacturer of the gloves for the Dee Blast / Snap-On. He knew exactly the glove that I needed, model 3024, and the price was much more reasonable than from Snap-On... $21.50, plus shipping. They should be here later this week... they also make collection bags, and other related safety products.

I bought the same blast cabinet at the swap meet about a month ago. I tried the gloves from harbor freight and didn't like them. So I told my snap on man which cabinet I had and I had them the next week, The gloves cost me more than the cabinet.

I ordered the dust bag today... $55 plus UPS shipping from the OEM... Also learned that when using glass beads, that the air pressure should not exceed 80 PSI... Now, I have to buy an additional pressure regulator..

Gloves for blast cabinets are generic fit. They can be purchased in various lengths and cuff diameters, as cabinets have various sizes of glove flanges, usually 6, 7 or 8 inches. I buy a longer glove to allow reaching the back wall of the cabinet, then simply scissor off the excess past the diameter of cuff I need, as the cuffs are tapered. This allows me to cut to a size that allows me to slightly stretch the cuff over the glove adapter. This makes it MUCH easier to put a hose clamp onto the cuff, as it doesn't keep slipping off while installing the clamp. I am paying around 32 dollars a pair. Left gloves wear more rapidly, and sometimes are available seperately. Sometimes right gloves are only available as a pair. Depends on the company you are dealing with. McMaster Carr carries a couple of sizes, listed as abrasive blasting gloves. Rodeco Company in NC is another source. This is where I buy gloves for the workplace cabinet.

Could someone that has this model cabinet, please post a picture of the dust collection bag? I just got a replacement from the manufacturer, Dee Blast, and the bag appears to be huge... About 18" in diameter, and 42" long.
thanks for the help... Junk...

Long time coming, but that is the size of the bag that I got with my cabinet. I bought an old Snap-On last weekend. The bag is huge.

Mine is still good except that the zipper in the bottom needs replaced.

I can take a pic if you want.

I too need gloves.
Thanks for the Janessco tip.

I got the gloves from the company in Texas, and they are a very good quality. I told them the diameter of the hole and he asked if I wanted the beaded end, or the cuff end. I went with the beaded end, and after they arrived, I saw the difference. Next time, I will order the cuff end, which is what was OEM on the blast cabinet. They also sell both single right & left gloves if you need them. Might be cheaper to just buy a second pair. The only thing about the company was the shipping costs. I have a business address, but they claim that my business address wasn't recognized by the UPS software, and it cost me almost double, since they used the rate for home delivery. I learned about the extra shipping charge only after they were delivered, and when I called to complain, they gave me the explanation. I asked why they didn't call, and got the silent, blank stare type of reply.... sigh. Just be forewarned, to get an exact shipping quote, and tell them that if there is any discrepancy, to call before shipping.

I bought these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-SANDBLASTING-SANDBLASTER-SAND-BLAST-CABINET-BLASTER-BLASTING-GLOVES-/160990135319?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item257bc28417

I used them in my homemade cabinet with TP rings. They can be ordered any size. They are top quality cotton lined, which is very nice. They are cheap $ too. A++ I will buy another set when I trash my first pair.

Greyson

I have those on my watch list. Guess I will go ahead and pul the trigger. I like the free shipping. I always have stuff shipped to my office (got some funny looks when a pair of Hoosier Quick Times showed up). Every once in a while I get charge for the residential rate.
