Matco online specials

So, the website is having some holiday specials through 12/20. I've noticed that some items I like are still at the reg. price.

The reason for this thread is to ask an opinion on what would be worth a purchase while it is on sale, if only for a few bucks. As is the theme with most tool suggestions, anything that is actually made in the US add that in, as it will make me more willing to look into the item.

So, if any of you guys out there have a suggestion on sockets, wrenches, etc. etc. feel free to toss it in here and I'll be all ears!

Not a huge Matco fan at this point in the game for several reasons. I do not see the holiday sale though on the website? I find most of the items they sell are off shore, relabeled and over priced. Compared to the other tool truck companies I think they are on average the highest price. At least Mac gives reasonable deals for there off shore and/or relabeled items. I haven't seen a good Matco driver in service and inventory in a while either though.

Matco to me gone down the mac path of over priced import. The thing to remember with matco, they only build toolboxes, everything else is rebadged. They use to be a great option compared to SO.

Yeah I know, but I can't afford their boxes anyway! I have the flex head handle ratchets in the three common sizes, love them. Just hope if they break the replacement is still US!

And do it via amazon! They may be imports, but the ones I've used/bought have been of high quality. Both for the ratcheting wrenches and other tools.

I don't have a matco truck at work, but I like the tools I've gotten in the past. I try to buy stuff from them that won't likely break for ease of warranty returns. I'll place a small order of thing's I've already had my eye on I guess and stick to tool-topia and amazon for my imported tools. And buck up for SO and ******** for the rest.

Matco has some really nice tools (even thou none it made by them) if you can try out the long flex/box ratcheting wrenchs they are awesome and no one besides matco has them (atleast in the US anyway) and the universal impact sockets are the best (made by Armstrong but matco has more sizes available)

I never knock matco for there rebadged tools but i buy from all tool trucks and some are better than others for specific tools no one is best on all tools

All the wrenches and 88 tooth ratchets I bought from them are stamped USA. I also get the "tech ed" discount for being an instructor so everything is about half price for me all the time.

I've been looking into the larger sized 1" and up set and similarly the 20MM and up set as I don't have anything for alignments other than my loose crescent wrench. If they are US I'll pop on them. Do you have any part numbers?

Doesn't look like the duralast or kobalt ones (if they're taiwanese). I assume they're imported because of that "return for replacement" 30 day warranty. Insane...just insane. That can't possibly be true. Also...mail in warranty? Can't believe they're still in business with those policies.

Armstrong facilities in the USA however most of the sizes and styles are unique to Matco. I believe all Armstrong offers in their own brand, and through Craftsman, is the standard depths in 3/8" and 1/2" drive. Matco is the only one who offers both more fastener sizes in any given drive size, 1/4" drive versions, and deeps and semi-deep styles.

As I just said in the above reply, that style is USA made. The "warranty" is actually their return policy for online purchases. What it should read is 30 days for refund/direct replacement (if defective) and Matco covers the return shipping in that time frame for a defective product. The warranty on the actual socket is lifetime so after 30 days is up you just have to submit a ticket and pay for shipping if you break it. A week or so later you get a new socket. Or you can exchange it on a tool truck. Most of the truck brands operate under a similar policy.
