I thought I'd give my thoughts on the Milwaukee M12 Fuel 3/8" impact.

It's pure awesome is the best I can describe it . I have the Snap On 14.4 3/8" impact and obviously it doesn't have the power it has and it's not supposed to but I see were it'll replace it in many cases. It's so compact and lightweight and has impressive power for it's size and weight. It's rated at 117 ft-lbs. I would highly recommend it.

I also bought the LED light stick and think it's Awesome too. I have tried different rechargeable lights and haven't been impressed with any of them. This has 3 LED's and makes a nice even white light. I have been using the same battery since I got it and it appears as though it lasts a long time on a battery.

I'm a Snap On guy and own a lot of their tools and equipment but when it comes to 12 volt "compact" style cordless tools it's hard to beat the Milwaukee M12 line of tools. They have such a great assortment of products no matter what line of work you do.

Another thing I like about it is it has a button on top that you push to change it to a lower power setting.

Thanks for the review! I have multiple M12 tools and love them. I was wondering about this impact- it is now on my list.

I got it. It's an amazingly powerful little gun for the size and weight! I got the 1/4" quick change version because i use it on a lot of Interior screws as well as nuts and bolts. I'm in love with mine. Very versatile. Use it every day.

1/4" ID

Hackzall
Right angles drill

There is a bunch of M18 stuff I want, though...

This kind of thread is torment, I've got almost stuff for each item and dread another slightly varied from Bosch battery connection so its not compatible.

Wish I could justify buying into the whole package, but what I have is working fine.

I have all three of those and love them. The stick light is worth the money. I made my own magnet with 1/4 20 bolt, nuts and a 50lb magnet for less than $10 at ACE since CPO was sold out.

I have both M12 and M18. Already purchased 2 of the M18 floodlight to replace my halogen ones, but will get the M12 too. Love the light pattern that these things put out.

I was wondering, is the M12 Fuel 3/8" impact variable speed (by pressing the trigger) in addition to the 2 max torque ranges? Thanks!

Yes it is.

Honestly the two torque settings did not interest me when I bought it but I find it very useful after using it.

Can you take some pictures to show how bright that led stick light is? I'm on the fence about buying one. Is it something you can hang on the hood of a car and give out enough light while you're wrenching on the engine?

Anyone know a good place to buy a few m12 batteries? ive been thinking about buying the heated jacket for a while and could use a few extras. i have the m18 version of the 3/8 and the adjustable torque setting on that works well for small car lug nuts torques em down right at 75ish pounds every time.

Hmmm that is actually much brighter looking than I thought. I like how the light is nice and even throughout. I don't like how flashlights tend to have localized hotspots.

I did the M18 Fuel kit (1/2 drill, 1/4" hex impact driver), with plans to pickup the circ saw although I'm sorta regretting it now seeing all the M12 stuff! Maybe I'll just have to have the M12 and M18 of each tool...

The cool thing about starting with M18 stuff is that your existing charger will charge both battery types.

I can't express how impressed I am with the 3/8 Fuel M12 and how much use it gets. If you are a tech I would highly recommend getting it.

1985 full size Buick replacing the center link. Snap On 3/8 impact would not fit between the center link and sway bar. The M12 fits and easily removes the lock nuts that have probably been on since 1985.

Fantastic post with pics, makes me wonder if I'd trade my M18 Fuel 3/8 for it

The smaller form factor is a nice thing

Ahh f*ck. I did know about the light stick. I have the M12 line and I am in love you can not convince me of something much better a reasonable price.

I own Led Flash light, impact driver, 3/8 gun and the fuel drill.

I do want the 3/8 ratchet. That drop light is tempting!

The M18 Fuel 3/8" is actually half an inch shorter than the M12 Fuel end to end. You don't have the option to go for the little tiny hidden battery in the M18, but the M12 w/ the extended battery isn't much smaller than the M18 w/ the compact.

Thats true, the only one that is shorter is the 1/4" Square version but I believe its rated way lower so thats probably why. I think I ll keep the M18 3/8 and add the M12 1/4" hex for interior and smaller stuff. :D

The light output is bright and quite uniform. I haven't used much yet. See the light photos comparison w/ and w/o the Strion flashlight (160lumens).

This won't replace the M12 light stick. The m12 lightstick, I believe, is like a flashlight - small and compact.

M18 floodlight - light the side/perimeter of the car
M12 sticklight - light small area of engine bay
Therefore, M12 and M18 lights compliments each other if you're to use to work on your car.
How are you liking that M18 flood light. I am seriously thinking about getting one.

Question for the Milwaukee products, are the 12 and 18 series all brushless models? I have a ton of the Dewalt tools and when they die maybe I had better look at the Milwaukee line-up.

^Yes and they call the brushless line "Fuel" for both M12 and M18.

M12 Fuel - 8 tools

M18 Fuel - about 10 tools

Majority of their tools are non-brushless though. Brushless is still a developing technology for cordless tool

Received my MILWAUKIE 2454-22 3/8" Impact Wrench Kit and separate 3/8" sq to 1/4" Hex adapter.

Two speed brushless motor with 1400 inch lbs of torque. Has to be the slickest power tool
Ive ever had the pleasure of holding/owning/using !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO other brand can match this M12 Tool Platform at this price point and quality.
