I am looking for a small to medium belt and disk sander to replace a great but huge dinosaur. Something this size (and price range) would be good: http://www.sears.com/rikon-4inch-x-36inch-belt-6inch-disc/p-00937414000P?prdNo=15

The catch is I want something with a connection for a shop vac. Do any come to mind? Even better, how about one that can be wall mounted- saving space is always a good thing.

Thanks in advance.

How about a pic of the "Great but Huge dinosaur" ?

The pic you posted, those are sold everywere, just different labels. I'd be very untrusting of those chinese motors on those things.
If you do buy one, how about just making a dust chute with a vacumn hose attachment on the end?

Maybe I'll snap a pic. It's a 40 or 50 year old Craftsman. It is a beast- in the best possible way...but a pain to move around.

I hear you about the quality concerns. I just figured if I could find a good quality one with dust collection I'd probably grab it....even at twice that price.

Ill trade my Delta version of the Rikon you posted for your "great but huge" one???!!! Please.

Seriously though, post pics.

I have the 8" disc+ 6" belt Delta (china, taiwan?) and its been pretty great for the CL price of $80. I do both metal and wood and of course id love to have a dedicated sander for both, this one does the trick. The footprint is minimal and its on casters

So "replace" was not the right word. It will be kept, but used in a different location. It's a great sander.
