I don't know about other Cat dealers, but I work for Empire Cat and we get Cat tools at cost. I would make friends with a employee at a CAT dealer to get a good deal.

You get 0% discount at any Cat dealer :wtf:

I was reading this and just had a great thought. I get a good price break on Cat parts and stuff from my Peterbilt dealer, and like you said 0% from Cat. Maybe I'll call them up (Peterbilt) with a few tool part numbers I've been thinking about and see what he can come up with...

Give me a week or two and I'll try and come up with some results.

And as you may be able to tell, I'm also Cat addicted...

Your peterbilt dealer will get them at normal list price. They get discounts on truck engine parts but that's it. I work at a Cat dealer so I get everything at cost. It's still expensive enough with me just working on my own things. I have a few Cat tools and have a few more that I'm looking to add.

That CAT ratchet looks identical to the american made Willams

Wouldn't the same patent numbers lend itself to be the same manufacturer. Once a patent runs out you no longer reference an old number on a new production item from a different manufacturer. I am no expert. Just armchair quarterbacking that statement.

I bought some CAT tools when I worked at peterbilt about 10 years ago.. the cat price was about 1/2 of the equivalent snap on tool.
