What's the plan for venting the comp. room of heat build up and insulating for noise? I was planning to use the space under my shop stairs in the same manner.

- not quite sure yet. I wired my compressor up last week and the thing is quieeeet...so maybe no need for a sealed room, i guess the airfilter works as an intake silencer too...good news for me.

Looking good. What color is that siding?

- The siding is called terratone. It looks green/ gray and bronze at different times, depending on the light. I love the color, very natural.

Getting closer, the outside is almost done, please ignore the mess. I simply do not have room to put all of my **** somewhere else till i get this finished.

-got the big sectional door painted this weekend to match the others...

Gutters and downspouts are up and finished...

Been working on insulating and sheeting the walls inside. Also got all the cieling hung ( still need to finish screwing parts of the walls and ceiling) -Oh and i got two more rows of the 4 bulb T8s up...

test painted a 1"x4" The plan is to frame the windows and mandoor with this and put a horizontal strip up where the two 8' siding sheets break to hide the seam...

- finally got to take my christmas present out of the box and set it up (still havent got a chance to fire it up)

Gathering materials for its first project...

Thats it for now, hopefully i get a little further this weekend

So far as I can tell, i think noise will be a non issue. I considered putting metal on the top 4-6' of the walls and then decided against it partially for the noise concern. The only thing i notice with the cieling is when i slam the man door it rattles a bit. Partially because it isnt screwed down all the way. I plan to have celulose blown on top of it so that should take care it totally. I think the wood walls go a long way to absorb sound.

I had planned on building a sealed room under the stairs, but i fired it up last week for the first time and it is not very loud at all. I think i will leave it open at least for now. I like the thought of being able to check the oil/ service it/ keep my eyes and ears open for wierd sounds- without walls getting in the way. I could change my mind after my first job die grinding though. If i were you i would consider remotely mounting the intake somewhere with a silencer/filter on yours. Ive heard thats where most of the noise comes from.

Ill post up some more pictures of it. Right now its got the interior out of it and I am cleaning up the floor pans. It will be getting suburban buckets and a CJ console inside. I plan to bedline the floor pans when i am finished with them and leave behind the back seat carpetless.

This winter it is getting a Vortec 5.3/4L80E/NP241 combo.

Not a whole lot to list yet, but Ive got big plans for it... If i ever get the garage done.
I never would have thought it would take me 18 months to get the garage done. But the end will justify the means.

When I did my M-715 I stole a lot of normal FSJ parts (lots of interchange)...
When you get around to that 5.3L, I highly recommend the Advance Adapters motor mounts, they make dropping in an SBC pretty easy with some left/right flexability.

Why would you want to swap the whole drivetrain? That's got a 360, right? Why not bolt in something from the Chrysler family...or rebuild the 360? A new 360 would easily be over 300 hp, and with a few performance parts, 400hp is pretty easy. Would be a whole lot easier I would think.

Its an AMC 360, whole nuther animal than the chrysler 360. Looking for modern reliable performance (fuel injection and OD). I picked up the replacement drivetrain complete for under 2Gs. I would have close to that in a rebuild. Basically want it to drive like a new truck with an old body...

Mine was originally too, but the wifes vote over rulled it. She liked the razor grills better and thats what it got. Actually i've kind of been liking the Razor grills better these days anyways. For once the woman knew best...hah

Love the wagoneer. I used to have a 77 cherokee chief. Loved it. Gave it to my father who drove it for a few years then sold it. Wish I could find that vehicle again.

Nice garage project...but I love the Jeep.

I used to have a '77 Wagoneer with a 401/TH400 & Qtrac. It sat about the same as yours with 3" lift and 31x10.50s on OEM aluminum slot wheels. I was a little rusty, though and only lasted a few winters beofre it rotted away to almost nothing. I now have an '04 Grand Cherokee Limited as a DD. Much nicer to drive, but too small compared to the FSJ. Jeep owned the market back then.

Is that a '74-76 style grile on your Jeep? I'm guessing that it is a later 'Grand' Wangoneer - '90/'91?

Now if i could only get the power company to call me back. The shop is almost useless at this point without some heat.... I'm waiting to hear back about getting a NG line run. Planning on a 75K BTU Mr heater or equivalent, which at this rate will be a project for next spring. GRRRR

Snapped a few pictures today. Got a planter finished finally. Outside is starting to shape up... Ive even got some grass popping up finally.

Picked up a couple vintage NOS porcelain barn lights. Got one up over the man door. The other will go over the tall door, whenever i find an appropriate sign (hopefully sinclair) to go under it.

Here are some finished pictures of the sink.
-I used the frost proof valve so i could have water out there. I plan to heat it and just havent figured out how i want to yet. This is cheap insurance anyways.

Pieced together some of the gladiator cabinets and some antique cabinets i had into a semi clean work bench. The red formica should work well for the light duty stuff. I plan to add a solid wood workbench in another area later.

My F250 is backed out in the driveway, the wagoneer is at a friends under the knife, and my 54 chevy p/u has yet to make it into the new shop. (its in peices in my parents basement at the moment)

It is the remote garage light for the liftmaster 3800 jackshaft garage door opener!
Didn't mean to jump in but that was to easy since I have the same setup.
