Sad day - most of these are going to have to go. But, I figured I'd post a pic or two of all them here, one last time, before I break up the family, so-to-speak.

It took a while to amass them all, little by little, got a bunch here on gj, some on ebay, some from locals around here. But, I'm trying to get a business going, and I need money right now more than a giant pile of expensive ratchets. Or do I? :dunno:

For what it's worth:

The big money shot:

Those speeder ratchets are really neat, I wish one of the lower cost companies would come out with one.

SKS : Holy ****. That thread you were talking about was insane. I thought I had the OCD thing as far as buying stuff, looks like that dude snapaholic buries everyone in that department... no, just one last pic of all of them, heck at least this way there'll be a pick of all of them somewhere, you know - I can always look back here myself remember the good old days.

CWP1616L: They must go, because I must have money to start a business. These represent the addicitve part of my tool-buying personality - the mechanic tools I need are elsewhere, and they won't be going anywhere..... :) As for where they're going, well, tonight they went to the Classifieds here on gj. I suppose many of them have come full-circle, since quite a bunch came from there... where they go from there remains to be seen!

I am forever in your debt. Anytime my wife crawls on my back about my tool addiction, I can pull out these pictures as a "Get out of jail free" card. I must have ten ratchets all told. I feel sadly lacking now.

Nice collection! I wish you much success in your new venture and I hope you get good money for your ratchets!! And if business does well, you can always start a new collection of whatever strikes your fancy at that time.

I do not understand why anyone would criticize anybody's tool collection. A lot of people collect things that important to them and unique to others.

I don't collect cars but I sure do love the sh*t out of my truck and I have 10x what the resale value is on it. My rationality is I could be out there doing drugs and being an alcoholic so what you rather have me do with my free time and money?

Beautiful collection!

Can't see why anyone would "bash" it, it is not like your stock piling ratchets so no one can use them!

Best of luck in your endeavors!

Very nice. You must not have liked the colorful ones too much.

On the first image down in the second drawer the hard handle black one in the center looks bent or is that the way its pictured?

I see three I like. Will you be selling on here? I would like prices the three. Metal handle roto, 1/4 speeder ratchet, and the indexing ratchet. Thanks.

Thanks again for the comments, guys! Yeah, I'm a tool addict alright!

I started just buying good tools that I needed, then I liked Snap On quality and the strength of the label as a good American brand, so I went nuts. I have a thing for the last good American brands, now that the factories are almost all gone (strange thing to have to say). Like Snap On, Gibson guitars, Spyderco knives, stuff like that.

MJB24 - that's bent. And it's supposed to be! :) that's an F852, an earlier bent-handle flex-head model.

Thank you for making me feel better about my excessive collecting. Ken.

Well, I'm feel good already; I'm going to keep collecting S-O.
Up to about 50 ratchets at last count.

Will this turn out like that old thread where a new member joined to show off his many SO screwdrivers, only to be berated by members here?

EDIT-

Here's the thread I'm talking about. People were ripping on this guy. Then, a mod went through and deleted all the critical comments.

Unlike others who feel the need, I would never berate anyone on their tool collection no matter what.

Best of luck to you.

Whew - that listing has been keeping me busy over in the Classifieds - I guess I didn't realize the power of gj combined with a listing of 85 ratchets all at once. :shocking:

Thanks for everyone who made comments, and who inquired about and/or grabbed some rats.

joel63: Nice! 50 is damn good - you have more than I do now! but

Telling someone they have too many tools is almost as weird as collecting the tools in the first place. I mean, duh, of course they're meant to be used. But if you're a gearhead combined with being an obsessive collector-type, then amassing piles of tools just seems natural! And fun!
