Congoleum Vinyl Flooring dirty all the time

We put Congoleum Vinyl Flooring down 6 years ago and each time you clean it , still dirty. You can clean or wash it 3 or 4 times one after the other and it is still dirty.

I don't know what I have to do to get it clean, it's been like this ever since we have had it.

Wrote Congoleum and they never returned any answer. It was there best Vinyl Flooring.

Can someone please tell me what to do.
Should I put polish or wax on it?

We have expensive Congoleum Vinyl Flooring in our bathroom, for several years...looks like brand new still.
Our home is a combination of Tile / Hardwood & 1 room vinyl plus basement all carpet.

Wife uses BONA cleaner & their special mop, on all our hard floors...best floor product out there.

PS - You didn't say what you clean floors with / not all products created equal ??

So you are still lifting dirt after 3 or 4 cleanings? If so keep cleaning. The dirt is trapped in the embossing of the vinyl. Congoleum makes a vinyl cleaner, should be able to get it from Lowes or HD. It might help.

Do not wax or polish over the dirt, you will just encapsulate it.

Some of the patterns(especially the upgrades) are very realistic and look very "earthy"....could that be what you see?

They make a product specifically for their product http://www.1877floorguy.com/conbrigneasn.html . Unfortunately, at this point it might be a little late for that. You probably have a residue build up. I placed a call to the company that manufacturers a lot of the cleaning products that are private labeled by others, etc.

What they suggested is using the Hilway Direct Allsafe Stripper http://www.garageflooringllc.com/hilway-direct-acrylic-floor-finish/ . They wanted to make sure you FOLLOW all the directions, including rinsing it really well afterwards.

They also suggested after it was clean using a product such as the Hilway Direct Plus (mop on 2-3 layers for initial application and then 1 ounce to one gallon for regular cleaning) after you finish cleaning the product to prevent the issue from reoccurring. We had a Congoleum "cushioned" vinyl floor in the kithcen of a previous house, and it was made with a clear "permanent shine" film on top. That film got tiny pin holes in it, and dirt and water from cleaning, would get under that film, and be trapped. It looked terrible. Nothing could be done except to replace it, which I did, with something else. The floor was only a year old.
