I am newb here but figured I would share what I have done to my garage in the last year. I started with a well used, unorganized, pretty crappy looking garage.
(Sorry the pics are large so I linked them instead of breaking the forum!!)

First thing I did was clean and finish the floor. I got tired of trying to clean up oil/grease/etc off of the bare concrete. I used the Rustoleum 2 part epoxy paint kit. Had to use two boxes to cover the whole floor but its been roughly a year since completion and its holding up well. Though if I did it over again I would have paid more attention to the "loose" areas and probably cleaned the cracks out a bit more.

Once the floor was completely set (I left it about a week) I proceeded to refinish the drywall, install new lighting, move the central vac, add shelves, and give it a nice coat of paint. Here are the results of all that.

Since them I have added a few more things, but I am in a holding pattern to complete the rest of it.
Future plans are:
100 amp service
more lighting
bigger compressor
4 post lift.
There are a few more pics in here if you are interested.
