What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!

For all of you who post here and wish someone would comment on how awesome what you did was, here it is: AWESOME!!!

...and I mean it! From the 64 T-bird (pulling stg wheel was smart), to the lift on the truck (no jack-), the stop-action vid (great metal-work, bad dancing ) and then the rubber molds (what'd you use for rubber)......like I said, awesome.

Made a mold and poured Urethane for an unobtainable clutch rod boot for a 1969 full size Chevrolet. Found a NOS boot (finally) and used that to make the mold.

The shop's new Introduction Movie is almost ready to debut to the world! The original's not that old yet but YouTube killed its soundtrack; ever since, it's been ten lonnnnng boring minutes of endless Powder **** and a redo has been under construction in my head for months now. This new one's gonna be stellar! Kinda sad to realize I've spent like 30 hours putting together less than seven and a half minutes of movie ... I have a much bigger appreciation for those Hollywood types now though.

Of course when it's done you'll all be the first to know.

I dug out my last Estes model rocket that I had as a kid. I started this in the mid 70s and have drug it with me through life for some reason. I pulled it out today and think I'll finish it. It appears I still have all of the components.

I found an unopened kit on Ebay for $175. That's a little more than I'd pay for it.

My son and his friends came over to help me get the motor and transmission in the Custom Harley we are building. Nice to see the motor in it since we made all the modifications to the frame and running gear.

I spent an hour straightening. re-finishing and polishing one of the TL bezels on the 40 Ford.

I set out to make a tool to turn the carrier bearing adjusters on a ford 9" that I could put a torque wrench on. While looking for a 1/4" thick piece of steel scrap to thread 2 studs into, I ran across my holding tool for Toyota balancers. Perfect fit! Two bolts welded to a piece of exhaust hanger, shot it with some red so it doesn't get mistaken for scrap and it works like a champ.

OK. I only ran one main line for now until I figure out where else I need air. It is WAY overkill for my application since I just have a 2 car garage but I'd hate to do it over. If I want to add a line I'll cut it and install the "T" and come out with more lines. VERY easy to install.

I pulled the engine out of my Maverick as well as some additional clean up. It's been a long haul getting the garage organized and I'm not near finished.

Was at a Michael's store today and saw someone buying one of the kits and engines. Looks like they come ready-to-fly now. Pretty boring and how can kids learn to build anything?

Painted the base and main machine casting as well as the ram, doors and flywheel cover on the Alba 1A during breaks from doing gardening and landscaping. First time using a mini roller for applying paint after cutting in with a brush. I like it! Started assembly and fixing bits as I go during breaks from doing more gardening the following day. Starting to resemble a shaper again.

Finished the day degreasing and polishing the remaining bits. Should be able to order the drive belt and start building a replacement compound mount and a new clapper box. Pretty effective weekend. At this rate I might even get the band-saw reconditioned before Christmas.

The shaper is running but still need to finish machining the clapper. Scored a Tom Senior M1 mill today. Needs a thorough clean and paint. Disassembled it to get it off the trailer in parts. Amazingly heavy and compact little machine. Hope it has a few more decades in it. Will all have to wait till next year now. Two weeks of camping, kitesurfing and quality family time ahead.

Drank some beer, listened to some music and PSA. (Put "stuff" away) after just lobbing tools etc in through the door when cleaning up for christmas and finally finishing a refurb on my study. I also finally wound my longest extension cord onto the old wooden cable drum the underground cable I used to power up the garage came on so its finally no longed a tangle up mess after about 15 years like it!

Read the code on the scanner on my daughter's Equinox, 7EA and 7E8. Did some research and it looks like an "intermittent misfire", sounds like it is usually plugs. Hope it is that simple

We never needed permits that I'm aware of. This model was revised in the late 70s with plastic molded parts for easier assembly. That won't teach the kiddos much.

$175 for an original unopened complete kit. A collectors website I found lists what these have been selling for and that's about right. Collectors are goofy.

Installed a new pressure switch on my Montgomery ward compressor. Also added another 220 outlet so my heater and compressor don't share (pain to plug/unplug jn the winter)

Worked on my Corvette project. Just about to pull the motor. But the intake has to come off to clear the lift chains and you can't get to those bolts until you pull the runners which won't come off until the valve covers are off so, I called it a day and plan to reattack this evening.
