What tool do you wish your favorite brand made that another manufacturer already makes or you wish they would make because honestly it wouldn’t be that hard for manufactures to make.

I used Makita 7.2 & 9.6 when I lived at home that was dad’s brand, when I got my own cordless tools I bought DeWalt 14.5 and a few VersaPack tools. I used them until the batteries died and they no longer offered the 14.5 drills at Lowes. I had a Black and Decker 12v for a few years then I switched to Ryobi.

I miss the VersaPack blender when camping we had some great mixed drinks.

I wish Ryobi made: A grease gun Lincoln makes one it is available at Tractor Supply. DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch and others make a Portaband I would love one. Warn PullzAll type winch could run off a pair of 18v batteries easily. A 75watt 120v inverter, 12v Acc plug and USB charge port. Milwaukee made a 12v, Black and Decker made a 7v VPX 120v & USB charge device.

A few others would be: a pistol grip fuel pump I bet you could run an inline pump to transfer from a gas can to any fuel tank or out of a tank to a can when you needed to empty a fuel tank. A water pump that does basically the same thing for potable water as the above described fuel pump. They make a 6 battery charger I bet someone could figure out how to make 4-6 batteries act as a charger for daily use then a 12v jump pack when needed. A remote mount 12v vehicle charger so I could hide the charger in the door/under dash then clip the batteries into a low profile mount on the inside door panel or lower dash.

So state your brand and list the tool/device you are envious of.

This is gonna sound dumb but I wish Milwaukee would make a cordless line trimmer, something not meant to be disposable like the Ryobis and B&D's

Oh and a cordless inflator like the Nextec! This request is far more realistic IMO

I wish Ryobi would come out with an 18v wet dry vac just like the one Milwaukee has.

Watch eBay. I used to have one but when my garage got broken into it never made it back to me

It was great for at the diy car wash and for when I was at school without a garage.

Read on another board (TIA, I think) that there's a six-pac M12 charger coming out.

I wish that Milwaukie had multiple sizes of drill-drivers or hammer drill-drivers in their M18 Fuel line like DeWalt does in their 20v Max line. And I would like to see a multi-PAC charger that does both M12 and M18 batteries. Or a job site radio that charges both.

Companies want sell stuff could it be the demand is weak ? Battery powered lawn tools big waste of $$$$, gas is class more efficient, power and time wise.

...tho I wanna see a pic of that battery powered blender!

Black & Decker Partymate Cordless Blender DM100 - Versapak

I think my old DeWalt charger charged 12, 14.5 and 18v batteries that was nice.

I had a Gas trimmer, I hardly used it, it was a pain. I have a 120v/18v Ryobi now and I love it. But I would agree that anyone paid to do lawn care would find it pretty useless and a waste of $$$$.

I wish Milwaukee made a much more compact cordless vacuum. The current wet dry is way too big and bulky for quick clean ups in the truck or boat, kinda defeats the purpose of cordless. I really like the power and efficiency of the Dyson portable but their battery life is horrible, about 6 minutes!!

At Menards now looking at tools. Masterforce 12v lithium drill and impact 89.99, power and charge 19.99 and metal shear 169.99 I hadn't ever thought about a cordless shear.

I like this thread. I have two lithium ion cordless systems, Hitachi 18V and Bosch 12V. I'd really like to have just one battery system for all of my hand held tools and am hoping my Hitachi system holds out for another year so I can see who has what tools I want/need the most.

My favorite powered hand held tool is my Bosch 1587 jig saw. One of the Swiss made ones. It is corded. Last I heard their blade guide is patented and not currently used on their cordless jig saws.

So if Bosch could make a cordless version of their 1587 but with a better blade change mechanism (so a cordless 1590) I'd interested.

On that same note, I'd like to see them come out with a more powerful version of their hybrid impact wrench/driver. Something to compete with the more powerful compact 1/2" cordless impact wrenches out there.

Would also like a cordless wet/dry vac with a short hose to get into tight spots. My wife and I would use this a lot for sure.

Ultimately "living" with my corded 1587 isn't a big deal so I guess I'm really hoping more companies come out with hybrid impact wrench/drivers like the Bosch. That's a tool that makes a lot of sense to me.

I have switched over to Ridged mostly because I can pick up used older ones and the new Lion batteries fit on them.

I wish they would bring back the planer and add a porta band.

I have the Rigid JobMax Air body, Multi-Tool attachment and Right angle drill head. When I get the Ryobi JobPlus base with Multi-Tool attachment I can add the Right Angle driver, Ratchet Head and Auto Hammer. To further expand my tools. I know that Ryobi and Ridgid are both Home Depot house brands but it is nice to expand my tools with changeable heads, To bad tool manufacturers cannot decide on a standard for changeable heads but not limit the whole line to only changeable heads.

They make one :headscrat

Were saying they do and you are aware of it and scratching your head as to why he is not aware of the tool that exists? Or you were questioning if they are made/exist and you were unaware?

What tool do you wish your favorite brand made that another manufacturer already makes or you wish they would make because honestly it wouldn't be that hard for manufactures to make...

Because this ^^ is the premise of the thread.

The Jore Corporation, the company that makes Montana Brand drill bits amongst other things manufactures a cordless trimmer that uses Lithium batteries and a new type of patented electric motor. The motor actually uses a printed circuit board as the stator. They also manufacture a hedge trimmer and a leaf blower using the same electric motor technology. Supposedly the run time is up to 70 minutes although I usually figure cordless tool run times are about half what is claimed. The also make a motor system with separate detachable and interchangeable trimmer, blower, and hedge trimmer heads. Rapid and four bay chargers are also available.

This is the description of the motor.

The tools aren't cheap and I haven't used them so I can't vouch for their effectiveness.

It looks pretty cool. I would have to have a remote wire for that battery to run a drill though. If Ryobi made it to take 2 of their One+ batteries I would be all over it.

I disagree.

I have a Ryobi cordless weed whacker....works just fine....I have yet to drain the battery after one use....and I use the same battery in my cordless tools.

I keep hoping my gas powered mower will die so I can get a cordless.

Not sure how you justify the efficient and time claims....with electric, the cost per hour is less....and time wise, no trips to the gas station...or stopping to put gas in the tools.

Now....if you have more than about 4000 sq ft of yard to take care of.....yes, cordless would be an issue.

^^Is it the 18v One+?

Yep....HD had a sale on the weed whacker...$69...included battery and charger.....I wore out 2 NiCad batteries in the 2.5 years I've been doing a 2-story addition....and I used the dog **** out of those batteries....recharging them 4-5 times each a day.....I'm sure I have about 600 cycles through them.

I must admit I like the Li battery a lot more.....only downside....it's lighter so the drill does not stand up as well.

ddawg16 is a large portion of your cordless the One+ system?

As I have stated all over GJ I am a One+ guy I have had other brands and I could again, it was pretty hard to walk away from that master force set earlier today but in the end I have a drill and an impact so the only net gain was the the 12v USB and the added headache of another battery set to charge. I have 3 rechargeable lights 2 Mag Chargers and a “D LITE” that I have had for years or I received as a gift. I have a 4 AA B&D cordless screwdriver I used when I was a locksmith and had quarterly inspections I had to do on door movers with 5 1/4-20 in each of the 200 I had to inspect. I got the AA version when the VersaPack died.

I do often wonder how many of the guys on here Pros and DIY guys have multiple battery systems because their preferred brand does not offer all the tools they need to get it done with a single battery design.

They aren't disposable! See my Save Orphan Cordless Tools Thread below!

I wish Ryobi would bring back the garden sprayer they once had but improve the thing so it consistently works this time! Also, come out with a Ryobi brand auto hammer like they gave to Craftsman instead. Ryobi also needs a GOOD STRONG LED based light that puts out about 10 watts or so of light. The little 1 w one is cute. Make a real light for once that is bright and will lash a long time with LEDS. People will buy it! And fix the cordless impact drills so the bits don't actually come loose in the chuck no matter how tight you tighten them within 20 seconds of drilling with a bit in hammer mode! Not ok! Great tool otherwise so D- rating instead of F for a nice effor there Ryobi for partial credit!

Also for the OP, if anyone makes something you want, you can probably mod it to work for you. I'm thinking of getting an HF 1/2" impact and using my new Black and Decker pack on it via Ryobi 18v 4amp hour to drive it! The HF 1/2" has about twice the torque as the Ryobi 1/2" impact offering! No need to settle for that Ryobi one! Hee Hee. See that thread of mine below for an example! :) - Paul and Merry Christmas to all

Ooooooooh. Oh no. Now you got me thinking with that Dyson Picture. I have one of those little Dyson small hand vacs but the battery is dead on it and was pretty lousy when it wasn't... Hmmm. Convert to Ryobi 18v lithium +, 4 amp hour? I might have to mod this one too as a future project! :) :headscrat  - Paul

Edit: I just checked and looks like the Dyson had a little 21.6v pack on it (mine is the older Dyson cordless portable). A Ryobi pack for this should work fine! Hee hee hee. Bwaha Bwaha Bwahahahahahahahah.....

pauls_workshop have you made a 3amp 12v ACC-1.5amp 5v USB to fit on a Ryobi 18v One+ battery? Because I want 2 of those.

oh and nice mod on the B&D

Holy **** you just made my day. We will see how well it does shooting through Aluminum coil. Have you ever had an issue with the nail set punch not returning on your nailor. I have had two of them and have had the issue with both.

Not yet. I have only used the nails that came with it and some Hatachi nails from lowes so far. I have only used the ryobi lithium+ 4ah battery though. Ive hit some metal brackets when putting up some hardboard and it just shrivels the nail in to a clump. No problems so far. I hope the stapler is just as good.
