If its like the rack I got a few years ago at HD the corner sections are only HALF height for shipping, not one piece. Not all that bad all bolted up and used lightly, but not a tenth as strong as the commercial package shelving I have that wasn't a LOT more money.

I have done it with one of mine, but you have to pop out a spring pin to take the one piece off. Also, you can only reverse one end, so although you'll be pushing it'll be with one padded end and the hard plastic side of the other end. That being said i worked just fine for me when trying to square up the ID of an object before welding.
