The tiles you have appear to be a vct vinyl composition tile. Make sure you get the proper thin spread adhesive recommended by the manufacturer. Use some portland cement based floor patch and smooth the floor out as best as possible. Make sure to use a proper sized notched trowel to spread the adhesive. Most important.....roll the tile with at least a 100lb flooring roller to bed them into the glue properly...may have to rent one. Dont do that and they wont bond very well. If they have a "grain" to the coloring...you want to rotate every other tile 90 degrees so the "grain" is in a checkerboard pattern. Get what I mean? turning every other tile?

BTW. Im Irish by blood. Love Ireland. If I ever visited...I'd never leave.

No the tail lights on a corsa c are at the side of the rear window, these are the Sri versions which are a tad darker..

The door handles have been changed to Fiat barchetta handles..

Yeah it's been in a few mags in it hay day.. It's totally changed now and should be ready by march for the new show season.

Yeah just had a look and they are marley tiles.. i got them on gumtree from a contractor that had them left over from a job he done in a school.. bargin price aswell as he threw in a bucket of adhesive to put them down.

He told me to use a small v notch trowel which i got at work today.

The floor was previously tiled with vinly tiles of the same size so i should be able to do it easily enough as i can see the outline from before hand.

I got another coat of the grey on and started giving the white a coat.

I want to put a cabinet above my bench but i dont have a powersaw to do it so im on the look out for a cabinet removed from an old kitchen.

I might be wrong but you might want to use a weighted floor roller on the tiles after you've layed them as I'm sure it makes sure there all pressed down evenly and flat
Google it though as it might be something else I'm thinking of lol

v notch trowel is for carpet. you want a 1/16 x 1/16 x 1/16 square notched trowel more than likely. check on the adhesive container. make sure you use a brand specific glue for best results. You have to roll it. It will go fast once you get going. You should be able to score with a utility knife and snap the tile to make your cuts. A heat gun will soften the tiles up so you can make compound cuts. I use a carpenters square for a guide when scoring straight cuts. Be wary of the utility knife. My worst cuts have been from doing this type of floor. Sharp blade is safer than a dull one...so change often.

Got a bit more work done today..

Got some pinstripe tape from my friend and got tow work on the black border..

I'm still doing some filling to the joint between the new boarding that I done and the old stuff.. Joys of being a beginner to the boarding world..

Also got some white flex and plug today in the hardware store while getting some other bits.. The black cable wasn't long enough and was annoying me, I think it looks better now

I had a good think about the cabinets that I was going to put above the bench and decided to make a pegboard to that I could hang up some of the tools I have and look a bit tidier.

Made it out of ply and going to use some bolts with big washers to hold the larger tools and I've got some tool clips for smaller stuff..

I have a coat of paint on it and I'll hopefully get it fixed in place over the weekend.

Im well underway with the flooring.. its taking the glue ages to go off as the garage isnt heated so im having to lay the glue in the evening and get up the next morning and lay the tiles..

so some pics..







Thats as far as i am as of this morning.. i think its nearly half the garage done..

I think im going to do the main square area of the floor in full tiles and then come back and do the half tiles that need to be cut for each side. It will work out easier so that i dont have to leave the car outside..

I also go some ply last night to make 2 small doors to enclose the space at the back of the tool board if you get me.. It just tidies up that area and i can put stuff in there and close it off.

On one part of the bucket it says coverage of 100m2 but when i looked that the label at the back it was stating for no porus surface. So the actual coverage is 7m2/L. worst thing is that i dont think they can get a smaller bucket so ill have to spend £60 on another bucket just to use a small bit out of it.. Ah well..

My brother in law is coming over during the week to put them up for me as I'm not the most confident with domestic wiring..

I got a bit more done with the flooring and all going well I hope I have enough adhesive..

Well the floor is almost complete..







I just have a small strip at the oil tank to do and one small strip at the shelving left to do but im going to cut them this evening..

Tidies the garage up soo much. because there black they may be hard to keep clean but i dont mind.. Ill have to keep the mop to hand lol

Next on the list is some sort of material to cover in the storage areas and artwork..
