Sorry, no pics today....
Detailed the interior of my Mustang, cleaning the custom car mats, vacuuming, and conditioning the leather seats.
I did a good inspection of the top and found 2 elastic straps deteriorating, they both have holes in the middle from being pinched between the mechanism.
Now I got to buy new pieces and stitch them to the good elastic up near the top...just have to find black elastic at the local fabric shop.

Glued another piece of carpet in a tool box drawer, made a "must have" list and swapped a battery out in the wife's '07 Explorer. I guess the severe cold the last few days finally killed that battery.

Changed the fuel filter in my 2004 HD Ultra Classic tonight after shoveling that damn white stuff in my driveway when I got home from work.

Loader project - day 1

Today I pulled this tractor out of storage under the pallet rack, and started the loader rebuild project:

Removed the hood and other stuff:

Unbolted the loader frame from the tractor:

Got it ready to drain the fluid and clean the frame:

I plan to replace all hoses, and to sand and re-paint the whole loader frame and the cylinders and bucket.
I will probably put this loader on my operational tractor for next spring, when I need it to move rock and dirt.

Meanwhile, I'll tear down the tractor it came off of, and go through it completely. When that rebuild is done, I'll move the loader back onto the original Bolens HT-20.

Got a flat front tire on my way home from work on Monday on the bike. Patch didn't work, so I had to get new tires.

Swapped the new ones on tonight in the garage.

Carried in some firewood, put some tire sealer in the generator tires and in the welding table tires. Fabbed up a broom & squeegee hanger. I filled up the Reddy Heater and fired up the generator to run it(heater inside, generator was outside) for a half hour in the house garage. Swept and squeegeed the floor, dumped a 5 gallon bucket of hot water down the garage drain.

This was my last weekend project. Pulled the motor/trans from my 89 Shelby CSX and tore apart the trans to replace the input shaft bearings. Made a whine when in neutral with the clutch out. Everything else looks good, bearings didn't look to bad but there was .020" end play in the shaft and it is suppose to be .04 i believe. I got the new bearing this week so I'll start putting it back together this weekend to measure the end play with the new bearings and get the proper shims to set it right.

Installed Neoprene seat covers on the Jeep. So tight I almost lost my religion but they looked sharp when finished.

A friend of mine installed similar seat covers on his Jeep and said the same thing. They were tight as hell and he almost gave up on the job but when finished they looked great.

Last night when I got home from work I had to shovel/plow more of that white **** from my driveway. Afterwards I replaced the fuel line in my Ultra that I should have purchased when I bought the fuel filter. Oh well, at least I was able to put everything back together and complete that job so the 30k mile service is now complete and the bike is ready for the riding season.

I then had a guy bring by a VW Swingaxle that I built for him about 10 years ago for his sandrail. Evidently he hand granaded it at Glamis over Thanksgiving. He called last week and asked if I could go through it and see what broke if he was to bring it by.

He pulled it himself and just brought the transaxle to me which was nice. Takes up a lot less space in the shop than having his rail torn apart in the shop.

I am hoping to have time to tear into it this afternoon/evening before the wife gets home from work.

Pulled the head from a buddies 93 Jeep XJ and redid all the seals on the upper. Worst sludge I've ever seen in picture or person. I guess the previous owner didn't believe in oil changes. But for 600 bucks, can't complain. She's running much better now.

I got them on-line @ Morris 4X4 and they are by Rugged Ridge.
Thanks for the info and the extra pics. We have a few suppliers around here that carry Rugged Ridge and I'll look into it. I plan to install seat heaters. They're pretty thin and hopefully the covers will fit.

I am ditching the compact fluorescent bulbs in my 20 can lights in the garage and putting in halogen par bulbs today. I keep the garage at 50 in the winter unless I am going to be out there an hour or more and I am sick of it taking 15 minutes to get bright enough to see anything. I tried being green and I just can't hack it.

And how green is it that you have to run them an extra 15-20 min just to get enough light, using all that extra juice?

I agree with you that I am not impressed with compact flourescent light bulbs.

I like the idea of them for a droplight (you won't burn yourself on it) but the reality was while it makes a lot of light it doesn't "throw" the light into the deep dark recesses where you need it like a regular incandescent does, and the glare it produces is nasty.

What bulbs did you buy to replace them?

I'm using these Phillips bulbs. Another thing that drove me crazy with the cfl's was the cool white color. These are standard incandescent warm color which I can just see so much better with.

Nice and warm in the garage today so I pulled 2 old engines out of the corner and decided to give them a bath and get them ready for rebuild. An old 59AB flatty and 312 Y Block.

Cleaned up a wet floor
Had so much snow last week, and it was blown up against the wall. Temps suddenly shoot up into the high 30's this weekend and heavy rains.
So it goes under the wall and all over the floor.
Luckily not too much was buggered up inside.

Had to clean out a bunch of water in mine too. It went under the doors, and under the walls in a couple places where there are cracks in the concrete. All this ice this year is horrible. I've never had standing water in the garage before. Time to rethink my drainage and runoff I think.

Realized the bracket I painted (holds the broom & squeegee) the other day, I missed the ends of it and had to throw more paint on it. I also lined three of the smaller side drawers.

That's some beautiful quarter sawn oak. Who's your source?

Had to go back a few pages to see if anyone else had posted any.
Several years ago I ran into a bunch of huge white oak logs and had them sawn into mostly all quartersawn material.

I have enough to last me a long long time :)

I worked the woodwork again today.
Inletted the hinges and installed the upper door.

Into the house for test fitting and started preparing the 8/4 stock for the top of the cabinet.

Puttered around. Charged the ATV battery and started her up. Ride today was cancelled due to freezing rain. Tomorrow I will check the battery in the truck with my new battery tester.

I need to do something 'picture worthy' . You guys put me to shame.
