Hi,

I bought this jack for $20, but it needs rear casters. i'm prob going to do a resto with new paint, but I can't seem to find any casters besides milwaukee jack co. They are 2.5" steel wheel, with a 3/4 shaft.
Does anyone have a set of two, or knows where to get them?
Thanks

Yes, and I 'bout fell of my chair when I heard the price.

Yeah well that design of caster stem is very expensive and are generally special order. Might try, removing that upper race and rebuilding them.

Thanks Hiball. These casters were def overloaded, and the caster frame is bent and missing the balls on one side. I guess I'll have to order from Milwaukee.

Also, i was reading your thread about Jacks and this jack does lower very slowly under load, and has slight seepage around the main ram.

How difficult is it to rebuild a Model 20? Do you have a kit in stock?

Thanks,
Hunter

I don't assemble the Milwaukee kits, here again I would check with Milwaukee and compare prices at Blackhawkparts.com and lazzar hydraulics. The jack strictly utilizes orings/backups for all the sealing surfaces and outside of needing a delicate hand to install them in the cross shaft that connects the reservoir to cylinder, it's not too bad. It might be a good idea to tear it down and inspect the surfaces of the main ram, cross shaft and pump pistons and make sure there aren't any problems prior to forking out the cash for a kit, which btw is fairly reasonable IRC.

I would Definitely check with Milwaukee first.. Good luck.

Ok, will do. When the jack is up, the main ram looks like new with no pitting. What is exposed on the pump pistons, those look ok also. i'll use this thread for restoration updates.

I bought the rebuild kit from Lazzar Hydraulics. The kits run $35 from Lazzar Hydraulics or directly from Milwaukee. Caroline at Milwaukee is a really nice lady and helped me out with some of my assembly questions. She's only there Monday to Thursday from 0800 to 1200, so it is best to send her an email with the parts that you want, along with your address and then call her with a credit card.

If you decide to paint the jack then you need to buy Massey-Ferguson red. I used most of four spray cans to do the job, and that was starting with sandblasted and primed parts.
