Does anyone on here collect Craftsman tools made by Wilde of California.
There is a P in a circle stamped on them. 1945 to 1970.
They are very well made tools and not cheap. They are still in production.
I picked up a 10 " slip joint "Pump Pliers" . I am up in WY on a winter vacation and still looking for tools. LOL

I know that just about every tool company has made Craftsman tools through the years. I have had a pair like this for 50 years and they work great.

I was just wondering if anyone collected this maker.

Your both right. When they were made for Sears the company was in California

I'll play your mind game. Where is your source of information that says a Wilde tool company existed in California?

Do you ever google or fact check? They have never been out of Kansas.

Uhm, what you said contradicts the link you posted. :headscrat

No they started in california! RCStocker said so!

Don't forget Jeff, they are worthless, he has bough them cheaper and has been selling tools for 50+ years. :spit: I really hope this guy drinks heavily then gets on this forum, otherwise, wow.

Just to be clear, there is a "Kansas City" in both Kansas and Missouri. Wilde isn't clear which one the company started in on their website. A tool marked "KC MO" is pretty clear, though...

Yea, I think the way he worded it just sounds a bit confusing. I wasn't sure if he was saying that the company has never been outside of Kansas or the tools have never been out of Kansas. Meaning the tools never came from Kansas. Out of meaning in this case comes from. :dunno:

O and RCstocker, don't forget. Even though they may be made by Wilde for Craftsman they are still Craftsman brand tools. Which as you usually state are worth pennies on the dollar so...

As mentioned, the Wilde History link does not say which side of the state line but for the sake of argument it is KC MO, that is an honest mistake and not the made up tripe **** RCStocker with his California statement.

It is not the first thread he has posted made up or far fetched statements that were way off base. Also per usual, he never comes back on a thread to back up his claims and slinks away to another thread and post some other made up tripe statement. He is either a super troll or a few fries short of a happy meal.

I'm going with the "few fries short of a happy meal" theory. A while back I started following RC's posts closely because I really thought the guy was an obstinate **** hole and couldn't believe some of the things he continually spouted off. Almost every one of his posts are full of bragging, poor grammar, misspellings, inaccurate statements and usually some kind of insult to the OP. After reading the same garbage over and over, I've come to the conclusion that RC is just a "whack job" who doesn't see how silly he comes across. As a result, my attitude toward him has changed. Now, instead of getting irritated with him, I find his posts to be most entertaining simply for their overwhelming, and unintended, stupidity. He rarely disappoints and manages to post one "winner" after another. The guy is an absolute gem. Let's not discourage this "comedic genius."

This has to be one of the best threads I've read in a while.
Ca. = California! HAHA

Jeff,

Like I said, RC's posts are usually pretty comical. What makes them funny is the fact that he's TOTALLY serious when he writes this stuff. This thread is a perfect example. I'm definitely a fan of sorts. I know Outlaw warned me against promoting RC's buffoonery, but just go back and take a look at some of his prior posts. He's penned some absolute "masterpieces" along with many, many classic nuggets containing words of "wisdom, experience and life lessons." So, let's not get too annoyed with him, instead, let's just sit back and enjoy the show!

Trust me, I know. I follow his 'wisdom' quite closely.

My snap on man told "made in China" was from the Chinese Indian tribe in Arizona. Apparently they make really good tools.

I wonder if Arnold hand forged all the Wide Ca pliers... Makes perfect sense time frames and whatnot align perfectly. Dianne feinstein i think was CEO of wide Ca IDK
