We have been working on this for a little while and its finally to a point where I can post some photos. Its no where near complete, it will be a while before all the details are finished. So forgive me for not showing it off after its completely finished. Things still to come,
-Display cases for model cars
-New garage doors
-more cabinets to replace old ones
-more wall art
-tire rack
-and other things I just cant think of right now.

I would have never thought that a Craftsman riding tractor would be taller than a car :lol_hitti

Thanks, The car is very special.
As for the floor, you have great taste, what colors did you use for your garage?
Yeah the tool box is pretty large. It weighs 7000 lbs without a single tool in it. Loaded up over 10K.

I remember that you posted a thread about the Vector or at least it was in a thread but I'm not going back to search. Just out of curiosity what production number is yours? I see on that site that Ohio posted it says that 19 Vectors were made. So just curious as to the number of yours. And do you take it out much or just to shows? Do you know the link to the thread where you explained everything about it? I remember it was setting up on jack stands at the time IIRC.

Very nice garage, was the first Vector/prototype lime green?

The W2 was painted several different colors over time, Green, Silver, Gold, Blue, Red, Graphite Gray etc. It was done to see how certain colors would look under different lighting conditions. Then production colors were selected based on how some of the colors looked on the prototype.

This car is 015 of the production run. There are a lot of web sights that have information on them, but there are not many that are actually factual. Most things on the web about the car are just plain wrong. With only 17 production cars and 2 pre production cars ever built, there is more myth than fact out there on the cars. I worked at Vector for many years and was there until the end. So I am able to speak very factually about the cars. I usually ignore most of the information on the web about them.

You have some nice toys. I also had a 2006 Yamaha Apex GT... they are incredibly fast... I don't think people know "fast" until they let one of them full throttle.

So compared to the Craftsman mower you show in the one pic, what is the total height of the Vector compared to total height of the Craftsman?

Can two people sit comfortably in it? From the site that I went to, it looks like where your foot panels our, the legs and feet tend to be moved towards the center somewhat. Is that right or was it just the way the photo may have looked?

The Tractor is 43" tall and the Vector is 38.5" tall. As for comfort the Vector W8 had the widest interior of any production automobile at the time and the seating position places your legs directly in front of you as both seats are towords the center of the vehicle. Plenty of leg room and a comfortable seating position. Other cars have the seats outboard and then the front tire wheel well intrudes so much that you actually sit sideways. Not the case in the Vector.

Wow, just found this thread. Incredible amount of cool things under one roof. The cars, the floor, the Matco. Kids in your neighborhood must go ape#@&* when your door is open. Awesome.

Thanks,

Its a lot of fun to see peoples reactions to our toys in the garage. Mostly the neighbors. I dont get to show things off much these days. I would like to get on more garage tours but I really need to build another garage to put some of the other toys in first so I can get it down to the 3 primary cars in there and then the other toys in another garage.

Welcome back stranger.

Thanks Kevin, I am trying to hang around here more these days. I am slowly adding more items to the garage walls. I need to put a couple more photos out here. I hope all is well with you.

There have been a few new items since my last couple of posts. I need to clean some things up out in the garage. Added lower cabinets and counter tops, Betty Boop, C5 Corvette rear end and a sign on the wall from my Dad.

Finally purchased my tire rack, one additional tall cabinet and a fold down desk cabinet to take the place of the tupperware stand up cabinets. I will be installing them over the 4th. Other than additional memrobelia for the walls and two new garage doors I am just about done with the garage. Now I need to build another garage to clear out all the things I dont want to keep in this garage like the tractor, snowmobile and additional clutter. Oh Mama is not going to be happy when I tell her that, wish me luck. Pics to follow after the weekend.

Your C6 is a 2005, right? Did you get your Woodward Avenue sign at the dream cruise? I like the garage and the cars. They're awesome!! Thanks for showing them to us.

I attended every dream cruise for many years. Then finally got sick of it. I use to live at between 16 and 17 mile just off Adams. So I was always out on Woodward. I am much happier now that I no longer live in the Detroit area. As for the C6 it is a 2005.5. And thank you for looking at my thread. :)

Ok so here we are with all the additional items complete from this weekends project. I am glad that all the cabinets are finally complete. Now the last thing I want are Garage Doors and a little more art.

Here are a couple of blurry phone photos of new additions to the garage. A couple of tin signs, relocated Betty Boop to make room for the two pictures my girlfriend had framed for me for Christmas. Oh and my latest project, repairing the APEX GT after hitting a run away tree.

The darn thing jumped out in front of me at 50 mph. So I have to replace the bulkhead and a few suspension components then she will be as good as new.:3gears:

Awesome garage!!! I had that happen with my Rev two years ago, those damn trees come out of nowhere!

Quick question, I noticed your garage is a block foundation with hollow blocks. I have the same with mine and am wondering what you did about the hollow blocks? Did you fill them with anything? Granular? Insulation? I seems to be leaking alot of air from down there as grade drops about 3 feet to where the block wall is exposed outside.

Love your set-up and especially the floor!

Yeah its funny how those trees seem to do that. As for the block. I filled them with foam insulation. Beads like a bean bag. It seems to do pretty well at keeping the cold air at bay.

Thanks for the complement on the floor. I like the racedeck but there are some issues with it that do bother me.

would you mind on expanding on that?

Sure, While they advertise it will handle high rolling loads, they don't specify what kind of a foot print it must have to distribute that load. My tool box weighs a tad over 10,000lbs and is sinking in to the floor.

They tell you to leave a gap around the outside of the floor to the wall to allow for expansion. But once you start placing items on the floor and holding it in location under contraction or steady state, when it gets warm out what ever is on the floor holding it in place (like a car) causes the floor to buckle under objects creating trip hazards.

If you get dirt, dust or sand on the floor and run over it, it impregnates itself in to the plastic. When you try to clean it the floor still looks dirty. I have tried all types of different methods to get the floor to look clean, but nothing brings back that new look once you roll over any dirt or dust with cars, tool boxes etc.

The floor does not breath at all, so any moisture tends to get trapped under the tiles and then mold will eventually creep through the cracks between tiles.

That is my short list.
