Hi Guys,
Need some quick help as a guy is selling nearly new 2'x4' 3 bulb t8 fixtures for 20 bucks on kijiji.
My garage is 13'x23' with 10 ceiling height.
How many fixtures should I buy?
I was thinking 6 but I like it bright.
Any help much appreciated.

Make sure they aren't metric fixtures, seriously. If your shop is unheated they may not work so well in cold weather. Bulbs included?

I would think 6 would work for your size of shop but maybe try a deal like 8 for $150 or since this is garage journal ...vbg.... less than that.

He said they were electronic ballasts. What are metric fixtures? Do the ballasts say on them if they work in the cold?

To answer how many... As many as you can! I've never, ever heard anyone say they have too much light.

More is better. I have a 20' x 28' and have 10 4 bulb fixtures recessed into the ceiling like you'd see in an office, (really clean looking) and when you turn on the lights it's nice and bright, not a dark spot any where. My older eyes appreciate it.

I picked up 8 fixtures from the guy and he would not budge on the price. $160 and the ballasts say -18 degrees min. Start so should be good even if I dont have the woodstove cranked up.

Hopefully they are not 347V. (Common Canadian non residential voltage.)

No not 347v. 120 to 277v.
Think it was a good deal. Fixtures with the lens covers. 8 pieces for $160. Should brighten things up way better than my current set up of 2- 100 watt's.
