I'm sorry if this has been asked before and I know there are many topics about this toolbox, way too many to weed through to find the answer.

Where is the 44" toolbox made? Reason I ask is I live in Canada and to go down for the day to pick this up I could potentially be charged an extra tax when importing back into Canada. If it is made in the US, Canada, or Mexico or doesn't have any markings of origin it is exempt and I can make a day trip to pick it up. Thanks in advance.

FYI, the outer cardboard packaging says Made in China several times, as do the manufacturer decals on the boxes themselves.

I brought a 44" top and roller cab back on a day trip to Washington State last month, and they didn't even ask about the COO. Just the usual 'how long you been gone for?' and 'value of goods coming back?'. I plainly said "5 hours and bringing back a huge toolbox, 711 taxes in". The CBSA guy just said to have a nice day and waived me through....The crossing was not even particularly busy that day either.

Even if I had ended up adding taxes or duty, still a better bargain than what can be found here locally

Thanks, that's kind've what I was thinking is they don't want to be bothered anymore with the paperwork. I think I'm making a road trip next weekend.

You shouldn't be embarrassed with the stuff you can afford to buy as long as it does the job it is supposed to do.

You're lucky, every time I pop over to the US on a day trip I'm asked to pay HST (usually coming back with $700 - $800 in stuff). I've yet to be charged duty on any item, just the 13% HST.
