Forever from now, people in the future will come on here and do a search for anvils, and this cute anvil stand will come up. And if they Google it, chances are garagejournal.com will show up with "Cute Anvil Stand"

Me thinks you really need to set down tonight with the wife and daughter, and explain to them that under no circumstances should the word "CUTE" ever be used when describing ANY TOOL AT ALL, whether made or bought, unless you intentionally put frills and lace on it.

I'd say your Man-card is not revoked. but I vote for a couple of demerits for even posting about a "cute stand" in the first place. You need to redeem yourself from such posting.

DEADHEAD.....If your wife or girfriend tells you your johnson is "cute" it DOES NOT translate to.... with word Johnson substituted for anvil

My WTM (woman to man) translator has concluded the following:

When women say "That Johnson stand is cute"
translates to
"Dude that a bitchin Johnson"

"That Johnson is darling"
translates to
"Thats awesome, how big of a Johnson is that"

"That Johnson stand is sweet"
translates to two different versions
1. "That Johnson is kick ***"
2. "That Johnson is sweet"

According to version 2, they get it right every now and then.

Cute and manly never ever go together when discussing tools, especially homemade tools. Store bought tools described as "cute" can only describe those little screwdriver sets that the wife uses for eyeglasses. The only other items that can be "cute" are purchases of items for daughter and/or granddaughter.

If it at helps in the redemption process, I am using the anvil to make guy stuff like this dragster that is a work in progress. The rounded corners worked great for forming the sheet metal.

I suggest OP show this thread to said wife....showing her how fast a statement such as she made can emasculate a man in front of his peers.

Point well taken, how about this pic?

That may redeem a couple of points back to the Man-card, but it does not fully redeem you. Any more pics, I would recommend that you DO NOT take them on anything "pink" or even "remotely pink".

In trying to redeem yourself, you are in quicksand, and doing nothing but getting yourself in deeper. For a proper redemption, we need to see garage pics. Stocked 'fridge with beer, maybe a couple girly posters on the wall, tool pics, and possibly a Hotrod / Street machine pic that you own.

And please, no frills in the garage like curtains, or flowerpots with plants growing out of them. I think we possibly could accept a statement from wife and daughter that NOTHING in the garage will ever be called "cute" in the future.

What a delightful little thread you've got going. Your tools are darling and that stand is so cute. I'm sure you'll make lots of pretty things with this fancy shop you've got.

:D Hahaha.

My wife called my Samurai cute when she first saw it, soon after a guy in the junkyard parking lot said the same and then a homeless guy when we were going to dinner. Outfitting it for Moab can't come fast enough. :D

This thread's cracking me and my wife up. I showed her the pic and she said "Awww, that IS cute." It does kind of have adorable giraffe legs. Sooo, two women think it's cute at this point. I think some modifications are in order.

Well that helps some; a MILLER WELDER would have gotten you more points. You may have to post picture of wife and daughters surrounding the cute, sweet, little darling anvil.
Actually, I think you made this a very enjoyable post. I sure am glad the boxes aren't pink .

Is that shirley muldowney's dragster? Will that be pink also?

:bounce: Fix'in that anvil is going to be a challenge:lol: I shouldn't rip on it, I as well have a chunk of rail track but it lacks legs. Shirley Muldowney's dragster pink eh with a real anvil that is going to be a bit tough. I'll see what I can do tomorrow tho :D

KMinAF, Thanks for being such a good sport. I think you made a very enjoyable post for all of us. Maybe not too funny for you but done in good taste. Maybe show the family what was created from a few choice words. :D

Modifications to the anvil, or modifications to the wife because she thinks the same
