Whats up everybody?! Picked up my new welding machine today!
Its a MillerMatic 212 Auto Set. Just released Monday. Its got infinite adjustments on voltage and wirespeed instead of 7 taps like the old 212.
Got it set up and burned a few beads today. Big step from my little Lincoln 135. lol

Here yall go.

Wow! thats a very nice machine! Its a huge step up from the Lincoln 135, I think the 135's are fluxcore only? How did you like the autoset when you tried it out?

I was actually picking up a new helmet today and saw one of these in there along with a nice synchrowave 200 tig. Both incredible machines. I just have a Lincoln 180 and an old huge stick machine..I am jealous!

You can order a kit from Lincoln to put gas on a Lincoln 135.

The wire speed preset is very cool.

I had no idea that the 135 was both gas and fluxcore thats cool.

Now that you have the 212 what kind of fab projects are in the works? I cant imagine you dont have big plans for that machine!

First off is my welding table, 4'x6'x3/8" top with 2"x2" frame on casters with leveling legs to make it stationary. Already have all the material just itching to get started on it. Then i need to finish welding the frame on my project truck, then i want to build a tubing bender.

Thats a nice project list. I want to build a new welding table for my personal garage. I have access to one at work and its very handy. It doesnt have leveling legs though as you mention. Thats a wise idea.

4x6 thats going to be a heavy table with that top! The one at work is only 3x4 approximately, I believe it was made with a scrap piece for a top. I like that size for moving.

Best of luck with the welder and projects. Please keep us posted on how you like the machine. I am very interested in it aswell.

That auto wire speed is a pretty cool feature, especially for a novice welder. I have a MM250 and really like it. Not that it's so hard to figure out a wire speed setting, but it sometimes takes a bit of trial and error.

Miller makes a great machine. I have the 135 and it has served me well. Now that I am wiring 240 into my new garage, I considered get rid of it and stepping up to a 200 series. I learned to weld on MM250. I would like to find one used. I will eventually get a 200 series and keep the 135, its portable and allows me to use in a location that doesn't have 240v.

Are those torque-thrust wheels on it? :)

Those wheels would look really bitchen with the spokes sprayed silver!
