Here's a Good Form chair I found at a thrift shop a few years ago. It was my garage chair until fairly recently when I decided I was spending too much time in front of my computer in a comfy Hermann Miller office chair (which I found in a downtown alley...) I can bear about two hours in the Good Form, then I grab the ipad and head for the couch. My cunning plan mostly failed, but the chair looks pretty cool...

On the other hand, I'd have lingering doubts about using medical furniture of uncertain origin around foodstuffs, but I'd probably get over it

Very cool! Brings back memories. I had one exactly like this when I was in High School. I had nothing of real value to keep in it. But I did lock what little money I had in it to keep it safe from my brother and sisters.

Yep, great album! I use the album covers to hide the barely arranged books & misc stuff on the shelves, they fit the openings almost perfectly.

Been keeping my eye open for a similar chair, but with arms. So far everything's trashed or they think they're made of Gold.
I'm sure you have, if not check out Bowies..David Live album..lots of good Earl Slick guitar work.

I just picked this up from CL for $20.00, cleaned up pretty good, but does need some work on the arm rests. Not too sure how to remove the padded part for some fresh material. Looks like some metal pins are holding the padded part on. It was made right here in Michigan by Browne-Morse. I haven't done a thing with it but a 30 second once over and wipe down, too cold right now.

Picked up one today from my mom's old storage garage. My stepdad got this from the VA (I think) and it has sat in that garage for the last 20 years. It has some rust on the top but the rest is in pretty good shape. It's been repainted, it appears, in a whitish tone, but the original gray color is beneath. There is no badge on it, only a very faded ink stamp on the inside of the back panel; I can't make out what it says though. Any ideas from the design or handles? There is no key but I know the drawer locking mechanism works. By pressing and holding in on the middle drawer, it activates the locks for all the drawers. I had one like this when I was a manager with the post office. It even has some sort of gizmo that sits horizontally across a drawer with 4 holes and a piece of plexiglass fitted into it.
I plan on doing a quick touch up of this thing (not sure about the top), then putting in my basement workshop. I also got a steel garbage made by The Witt Company in Cincy, OH.

About to go pick up 2 desks today, for 5 bucks a pop. So in addition to my baby tanker I posted a while back, I'll have a full ensemble. I plan on placing one in my office and the other one is so ridiculously large, I'll have to figure out how to make room for it in the garage.
The baby tanker is still waiting on some tlc and resto.

I was right, I'm getting it for free.
It's in a friend's shed behind the country store they bought a few years ago.
When he bought it, the meat slicer called the desktop home.
He's letting me use his trailer and helping me move it.

Cleaned up some. I'll have to do something for the top, it's trashed.

Picked mine up yesterday. Made by a company called "Sunshine" in Waterloo Ontario.
Has one small ding, but the original Olive color actually matches the room its in, so no repainting for now.
Up here these things refinished are going for $1000 to $1500. I think I will keep this one for myself.

Yeah, it almost got me. Then it took me a minute to figure out how to fold it back in without almost injuring myself again. I'm trying to figure out what I can use it for, or if I just want to pull it out.
I threw the little file organizers from one of the actual drawers away, but I'm going to dig them out tomorrow. I think they'll actually be useful.

Any idea how to go about taking the top off? Looks like there are some screws coming from the top underneath the end caps, but I can't figure out how to take them off. I haven't decided to destroy them yet.

Polished the handles and have the drawer fronts a quick wet sand with 600grit. Got a lot of whatever it was that had dripped down the sides off.
I'll tackle the main body of the desk in a day it two.
I ripped the **** off the desk top today. Still not sure if I want to attempt to recover it with something or replace it.

Might check any nearby universities or colleges to see if they sell thier surplus office furniture. Bought a really nice tanker desk and matching chair for $35 from the nearby ND surplus store. Another reasonable source is Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Over this past weekend, I saw three tanker desks at the local ReStore. Highest priced one was $35 but likely worth it as it was in great shape and had the extra large desk top (i.e. extended about a foot past each end). Cheapest was under $5 but could have been refinished and was extra cool with the two workstation layout. Didn't need another one, so passed on them.

Not sure where you are, but Purdue has one as well. They usually have a bunch of really nice tankers for $25.
I paid a hefty sum ($100) but really wanted this Equipto modular workstation. Its got 110V receptacles built into the "legs" and is heavy duty throughout. Still working on cleaning it up.
