Does this forlorn garage look familiar?

Shots taken in December along the highway in rural Utah. Look at the Garage Journal artwork at the top of this page and see if you see any similarities...

You are mistaken. That is the Alamo. Or at least I'm pretty sure I rented a car there...

Did you go inside? Whats under the tarps in the office area? Is that a truck of some kind in the shop bay?

You can see in some of the photos a low wire fence around the building. I didn't cross that. No idea what's under the tarps in the office. The thing you can see in the shop bay is a medium-sized military trailer, a M101 or M105 (I'm not sure which).

To someone like me, that place is pure artwork. I'll take a beautiful building over a priceless painting anyday.

An image of vanishing America; a throwback to the slow-paced time when rural roads were used to travel cross country and you would stop for gas, a bite to eat, and maybe a stay at a local motel.

Unfortunately, this old station would not be worth the investment to renovate as the amount of traffic would insufficient to sustain a viable business.

Thanks for posting; it reminded me of my days when I would be cruising in my 1952 Chevy.

Could make a cool hobby garage for someone though. Place across the road has a Texaco sign out front, maybe the 'retired' garage owner?

Place across the road is an antiques shop. Cool building, I'm guessing these were built to a pattern for each of the big chains of gas companies so like todays McDonalds outlets a gang would turn up and whack them up pretty quickly to a standard set of plans.
