I went out this morning and again waited in the cold. This is all that was there nothing else, add to this the posting said there were tools. My brother and I were the first one's in.
Anyway the vise mounted on the powerarm is a Stanley handyman H1210 that someone took the base off of. I got both for $5

Not much here either guys, the state auction has no machines at all and there are no garage/estate sales worth considering so I decided I would load up and go try selling some things at the "trade day". It's where people meet up in a parking lot and sell straight from your truck/trailer, tent etc. :dunno:

A few shops later I found these knipex cutters and dug through a bucket of junk wrenches and ended up pulling out a whole craftsman set from 8mm to 19mm. Total cost $12.

Nice haul CT but I may have some bad news for you, do those Knipex nippers say "Oetiker" on the handle? If so they aren't cutters they are for crimping Oetiker band clamps. I know because I found the exact same pair at a church rummage sale last summer. It was dark in the tent and I didn't notice that the jaws weren't real sharp until I got them home. They probably won't hold up to cutting wire but they do cut zip ties well.

Well, I'm working on a couple of deals. one long term so stay tuned, and other I hope short term, it's hard to type with my fingers crossed!

I suspect my lonely three possibles for tomorrow will get rained out. Col FM, and two garage sales. I'm hoping one of the garage sales is rain or shine, but... :dunno:

Thank you, I wasn't really sure what they are called. I use those on the clamps when I'm laying black poly sprinkler lines and these are definitely an upgrade from the ones I'm using now.

Glad you have a use for them, I never use those type of clamps so I guess I have a dedicated pair of zip tie cutters. At least I only paid a buck or two for them .

Thats pretty cool to bad we don't have something like that here. We don't even have flea markets anymore.

Went to my favorite shop today and found my first 'made in USA' tool :D! 10.5'' Proto breaker bar, brand new Pb Swiss screwdriver and a nice vintage Bosch spark plug in it's original package.
Total was 4 euros :)

Really? Just for the season, or at all? Never head of an area that didn't have SOMETHING for a FM.

You know, I miss one we used to have about 15-20 min away years back. It was indoor/outdoor, and always had cool stuff year round, rain or shine...

Went to a auction house today that had a large amount of tools. All good prices, lots of CM stuff, fair amount of he older double line and some SnapOn. First time I've been to one like his in awhile, and enjoyed it, things didn't get crazy.
First up, SnapOn thread repair set, $ 32.50

Set of offset Indestro Select box wrenches, with a clamp holder.

Set of Mac sae and case

Shallow 1/2" drive impact set, mostly CM, some others mixed in.

Large pair of Diamond pliers, Mac and CM brake tools.

Box of misc. has a couple of ratcheting snap ring pliers.

All for $ 106.00 including the thread set. Also got a SO vacuum tester, forgot to take picture.

These are in season here now, the smell is unbeatable, end up eating before I get home.

Some nice scores here!!!

I went to one garage sale today and got this lot for $21, pricing was kind of odd but I took it!

First up is some fishing stuff I picked up for $2,
img_1168.jpg

Next is a set of 1/2" drive snap on and craftsman sockets with a snap on extension and snap on ratchet for $5, the other wrench and pipe wrench was $3

img_1169.jpg

img_1170.jpg

img_1172.jpg

It says railroad special on it,
img_1173.jpg

Then this 3" vise for $10,
img_1171.jpg

Plus a game of rummikub for $1.

Not a bad haul for one stop today! I will be cleaning the red paint off the socket sets but for $5 I couldn't pass it up. It was the first thing I picked up when I walked into the garage.

Years ago they had them every weekend in the spring, summer and fall, then they would move indoors for the winter. I don't think there has been a FM in 30 years around here. Sometimes the church will hold an antique sail but thats really more for the upper crust if you know what I mean. Let me clarify something when I talk of flea markets I don't mean what some around here call flea markets which are nothing more that a place where venders get together and sell Asian knock off's, jewelry or home crafts. When I was much younger a flea market was where we went to find tools, car parts and other used stuff. It was before E-bay or Craig's list. Sorry didnt mean to sound like a rant.

Well it has snowed here for the last two days and night, so only one yard sale, and it was a bust. I stopped at the re-store and they were just putting out some new stuff. I robbed right out of the cart. I got a pair of wire cutters (klein), a pair of pin pliers (craftsman) and a unmarked pair of cable cutters. Paid 9.00 for the three pieces...Richie

The closest I came to today was finding a pair of no-name lineman's pliers under the passenger seat of my daughter's car. I was removing a FM modulator and moved the passenger seat all the way back to make room to roll in under the dashboard - and there they were.

Sorry - no pic . . .

Jim
