Last GS WAS open. Only a couple of **** tools not worth getting though...

SWMBO bought a basket full of Embroidery floss, a pocket watch, (quartz..) and I got an old Tarot deck from the early 80's but with 20's art, 10 utility razor blades, and 50 ft of new 1/8 nylon cord.

Still waiting on the CL call. Looking grim...

Today on CL I found this Kennedy box. It was a little over an hour round trip but it matches two other red Kennedy boxes I have and may very well become an 84" aircraft carrier/workbench/rolling station. Will need a key/lock replacement.

I was hoping to upgrade my at work box to all ball bearing drawers via Harbor Freight but this may just tip the scale with American steel.Or I may try and sell it as at large assembly and use the cash to pay for the HF toolboxes.

Oh my cost today?.....$30 + $6 at McDonalds and $15 in gas= $51 which I hopefully win back at the Poker Room tonight.

I just went to a house a little while ago(CL ad) who had a ton of cool tools and auto parts. The deceased owner was a Ford nut and I counted at least six complete big blocks on engine stands throughout the shop.

He had friends of the family helping sell the stuff for the widow. She wasn't hurting for money and really didn't care about pricing the stuff accordingly, but the guys are (hopefully)looking out for her. Never know:dunno:.

My father-in-law went with me and nabbed an old autobody tape/paper dispenser as well as a cool old shop stool for $20. I inquired about several big bench grinders as well an older Thermal Dynamics plasma cutter, a Warn 8274 winch and a REALLY old tool cabinet with rounded corners. That was just the tip of the iceburg. There are two other buildings filled as well, and I didn't even get a chance to peak in. The guy I met with today was the "hand tools" guy. He was waiting for his buddy to come down to value the other stuff including the items I'm interested in. He said the prices will be cheap, but we will see. I'm sure I will come home with something.

You can see a little bit of the '55 Tbird on the second pic. It's an older restoration, but still in excellent driveable condition.

Good hunting you guys.
Well, never made time to take pics last week so here are may hauls from this week and last week.

I hit up a semi annual flea market last week and met up with a guy by the name of Box-Lot Barry. He always has lots of old estate tools to dig around in. I picked up all the cutting tools from him in the first pic. Another guy had the green Union Steel chest with tools for $5.
I went on to the old usual flea market. These guys had four hand made wooden tool chests that were untouched. I was in heaven because I was the first to get a look in there and everything was $1 each. That's where I found the Williams Gun Mounting Wrench that I posted over in the Williams Tool thread. Also fund an old Dunlap set, Craftsman clutch driver, Blackhawk 8 point socket, and lots of old tools.
Went out today and found a nice 3/4" socket box, heavy duty USA quality. Unsure of the maker as it's painted green but I'm going to throw my S-K set in there when I clean it up.

I'm spying an early blackhawk socket in that last pic. Someone will want that, no doubt.

Glad to see you guys are scoring, even if I'm not!

I already gave Alinc a USUCK in another thread for that roller, well done!

3bay; the hammer in pic 5, leather & brass/copper facings? Looks cool!

Here's the gun mounting wrench. I also picked up a huge tote full of gloves for work. They should be a multi year supply. $40 for the bin full and I'm happiest about that because I sure need them.
I also picked up these wrenches and old drills. The one is clearly a right angle attachment. Does anybody know about the other one that looks like a gun?. It has a brass finger handle. Looks to me like the bit is not interchangeable.

I wish it was brass/copper. It's either very dried out old leather or wood, in a steel head. Not sure how useful she still is.

Not much going on in the way of sales in my area lately. I drove an hour today to check out an indoor yard sale. I thought I saw a block grinder hiding in the back of the photos. I was right, but it was roached and not worth buying for parts. Everything was missing or broken on it. The only things I ended up buying were a 6" Stillson wrench, and a box of 2" ramset nails. I had to wire wheel the wrench to ID it.

I might have a line on a place to check tomorrow morning. We'll see if its worth it. :dunno:

Since I was in the area, I stopped in at a consignment shop that I hated the first time I checked it out in november. I remembered that they had a ramset gun (I now needed one to drive the nails I just bought  ). I picked up the Remington mod #490 ramset, two half boxes of nails, and two partial boxes of charges, all included in the plastic toolbox. It was still sitting there after almost 3 months.

Between the two stops I paid $25.

pic 1 - today's small haul
pic 2 - 6" pipe wrench
the markings are :
"STILLSON" and "GENUINE"

and on the back side :
"Walworth MFG. CO."
"Boston, USA"

Walworth was the original manufacture of the Stillson patented pipe wrench in the 19th century. Stillson was an employee.

Here's some info that I googled on the Walworth company :

Here are my finds for the weekend. Got a few other tools, but these were the gems.

I've never seen one of these speeders before. It's a Snap-On M44 in 9/32" drive. The other tool is a Snap-On socket wrench.

The back handle has a female end for adding an extension. Seems odd to have one there.

They are blowing out grand dad's stuff (and he was a horder) so they asked $2. Almost broke my arm getting the money out.

I did pretty well today. I'm really excited about the Craftsman speeder wrench as it looks to be pretty old. The logo on the small box end wrench is an early logo as well if I am not mistaken. I also scrounged several Craftsman Torx, Phillips and standard screwdrivers. The corner clamp is Stanley and made in the USA. Not bad for a total of $8!

Pre-staging for March 14th? :D

That reminds me... I asked the misses a few weeks ago when valentines day was, and she goes "i don't know, what holiday is march 14th?" gained my memory back real quick.

Man, I'm glad I don't have to wait for a "special day"...

what makes it special for me is that she forks the bill at texas roadhouse that day

Look at the top of the speeder knob and see if there is a "V" there. 3/8" drive I assume?

Outlaw...ROFL

My preferred brands of locks are Sargent and Corbin, pin tumbler locks are preferred. The super old lever or warded locks are harder to get keys made for.

I spent $20 but most of it was on some DVDs that they were selling a buck a piece.

For the below I was $13 into it.

A set of 6 point deep sockets Craftsman 3/8" drive

Well, just got back from the CL score I did some reconnaissance on yesterday. I grabbed the Warn 8274 and this cool old rolling tool cart for $225:rocker:. The winch remote is in the truck. The baldor grinder/sander is still at the house, but he says that he is selling it as a pair with another huge one with buffing wheels which is in one of the other buildings. He said to call him next weekend. My father-in-law got the blue nut/bolt bins for $20 along with a bunch of automotive primers.

Anyone know who the tool cart is made by? I like how it has the open side cut-out for easy access. Another one for a resto down the road.

Yes. The white stuff is snow:3gears:.
