That rolling cabinet was sold by Sun Equipment and more than likely had test equipment on it originally .I have the same cabinet under my distributor tester. Bill

Thanks! You are 100% correct. Here's a similar one on ebay. I'm gonna use it to mount my bench grinder on.

I stumbled onto another item today in the endless quest to "dial in"the garage. I have needed somewhere (besides a 5 gallon bucket) to store miscellaneous hardware for quite some time. Was looking on Craigslist 5 minutes after this was posted. It's a Bowman 4 drawer hardware cabinet and I got it for $40 and all kinds of hardware was included! That's good but it means that I have even more hardware. This thing is all metal and very heavy duty. Well, it's time to head out and start emptying about 1/2 of the 5 gallon bucket into it, that'll probably take all night!

I would of paid $40 for it empty. The hardware is gravy IMO. Nice score:rocker:!!!

I have the same little vise except the Wilton isn't cast into the jaw, it's on a sticker instead. Mine was made in Japan though.

I picked it up for a $1 and figured it would be a nice little restoration project. I was just curious if it was a actual wilton cause it did look like a H.

Any idea what the model number/type is??

ctjohnson, very nice! I have a set of drawers from Curtis Industries in my shop.

I agree, nice score. I have managed to pick up two of the 4 drawer setups like that myself, love them. Much better than a bolt bin in the shop, they get full of dust. Can just take whole drawer to worksite.

He must think his books are rare. I thought you might like some of his smalls. Looks like a cute little craftsman box in the bottom of his tool chest. Exactly what I was thinking on his asking price because you can get a lot of stuff for that much. Looked like old stuff so take a closer look when you get a minute.

Cheers

I was thinking of offering $100 for his tool box full of stuff because I see a few things I can use. Unobtainum is becoming a new word in my vocabulary.

If you get it, let me know!
I learned the phrase from a couple of my phone guy buddies.
Many (most) parts for the old Western Electric phone systems are just not available anymore, so whenever referencing one of them, they will say "part XYZ123 is made of unobtanium" :D

That's pretty high. Kick him in the nuts with a $75 offer for just the top box. I don't think his phone is ringing off the hook in that price range.

If that was near me it would be sitting in my garage already even at that price! I have yet to find a clean 1950's Craftsman top or bottom box.

And I can always use another 1960's lower, I only have 7 gray/red lowers.

I think I paid $5 for mine, no markings on it other than the Wilton sticker and "Japan".

Finally, my first CL score of the year! Note to self, figure out how far away a place is before you run after it. Thinking I was only going 20 miles out of my way home from work.... it was 60. But, should be worth it.

A little banged up, but should bang back out nicely enough. The majority of the paint is still there too. Plus some extra goodies that weren't listed....

Two wooden / brass levels and a Disston Canada saw. Wasn't expecting the road trip, but $27 for all of it... I'll get over it.

Got this today from a craigslist seller $50 seemed fair for what it needs. Seems to have a non-original base and table or non-original head depending on how you look at it. Runs true and smooth looking forward to using it.

My issue is I really don't have the room for it all, but it sure would be nice to have the top. I also been kicking the idea of a 44" from harbor freight and opening up a space under the bench for it, then putting both craftsman on top. But I need a better storage system then I currently have that's for sure.

Saw that as well. They were only asking $15. I can see that I am going to have some competition this year:scared:.

You are lucky my brother was out of town, because he only lives 10 minutes from Reading. I even tried to con my siter-in-law but she was busy as well. Nice score!!

Nah, not too much, I rarely leave the Bucks/Montco/NE Philly area, but I have been tempted by the two people who list a lot of stuff in Aston and Brookhaven.... but, working in Quakertown, may include the Allentown area into my hunting grounds.

If he was asking $30, I probably would of passed considering the 70-mile ride home, and only getting 17MPG in my Magnum. At $15, I called him immediately after I saw what it was

That's really cool, Rick!!

Thanks!

Two weeks late. But better late than never.

Stopped by a spontaneous storage unit sale a couple of weekends ago and these are my finds.

Red heavy gauge carry box $3
Snap On ratchet box? $1
Thor drill (2nd one now. I like these). $1
Weston meter w/ ancient battery that somehow still has a charge $3
Organizer full of hardware $6
1 1/4" oak planks and slabs $12-Time to turn the roll-arounds into work benches!

Mixed feelings about the organizer. Its full of straight slot brass and steel screws and nuts. All clean new old stock. Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff. The problem is that it's all pre-organized. No sorting involved. That's half the fun.

We may have to help each other out. I live in DE, but travel to the Delco area often. I also see a ton of stuff in your area for cheap, BUT not too cheap for me to take the ride. I could paypal you the funds and store it til you get a chance to come get it.

Picked this up on CL for $40 with 3 gallons of Kerosene and a 5 gallon can. 100K BTU Reddy Heater. It needed a new fuel line and fuel pressure adjusted. Had some fuel line laying around and 20 min of time to diagnose/fix the issue. This thing heats up the one car garage in just a few min.

We can definitely work out an arrangement on a few things ;)

Nice score!

I have a couple of those assorted drawers and I'm going to get rid of them for plano boxes. I gotten to where I want to hide stuff so it don't look so clutter. So mine will go up for sale sometime in the future but first I got to get my cabinets on the wall!!

Struck out today. Got there a half hour after opening and all the tools and Lionel were being loaded by one guy Only thing left were a few DOE Vlchek wrenches so it makes me wonder what was there earlier. :(

The one with the Lionel I believe was a Northville condo off 7 mile. I was there when they opened at 10 and they had hardly any tools. The first one this morning was in Livonia off 7 and it was sweet. I was #4 in the door and I managed to pick up 3 nice body hammers, a 1/4dr Mac deep socket set and a couple loose Snap-on 1/4dr sockets.

That'd be the one. I really liked the PowrKraft buffer/polisher box in the basement, but I didn't think mine would fit in it.

I saw the pictures for that one and it didn't look like there were any hand tools. Glad to hear you found something!

Not so much a garage sale but i found these at my favorite metal yard while buying some material for work.

They had some large train track ill go back for but i couldn't resist these 2 for 5 bucks.

The large wrench is a Proto 2 15/16" slugging wrench and the smaller of the 2 is a Snap on. Its not a slugging wrench but was used as one so the markings are all but gone.

Does anybody have a model number for that particular wrench? I can see the start of the script "Sna" with a line underneath but nothing past that.
