I am its decent stuff sort of the harbor freight place on some things.
and i have sold one of thier paint booths before. but it was just a cross flow.This may not be in your buget but is a real nice down draft booth that does not requre a pit

The guy I worked for used his first mname for his business and it worked ok for him (even thou he said he wouldn't do it again} If you ever plan to sell said business its best you dont use any part of your name

Oh let me add since its now a business adventure you most likely will want a mixing/tinting bank. A lot of paint suppliers will buy you stuff if you sign a contract to use only thier product. You got to watch them suckers but sometimes it worth the trade off. trust me I pissed off a very large once to the point they showed up at the shop to see what I was talking about
Why don't you pick up one of those vinyl curtains so you can pull it closed when you doing work like that. They fold up against the wall and do not take up much space. They are not that expensive. I plan on using some of these dividers in the shop.
Mark, Congrats on going under contract on the new place!! It took me 5 months to finally pass papers on mine (just last week), but it's worth it! Expect the worst and hope for the best.
Have you considered a setup like the Duster prep stations?
Wow it is really ironic you posted this picture. I was at a buddy of mines warehouse this afternoon. He does disaster recovery in huge buildings......like 90,000 sq ft. A real glorified carpet cleaner!!!! So I am walking through his warehouse and see a stack of 30 of these 30" x 30" boxes with casters, a large squirrel cage fan inside, and some ductwork out the side. They are basically exactly what you showed in your picture. You then get a filter box and they clean up the air. He is going to sell me 4 of these portable units and then I just have to set up the filters. I like the portability. I would just use clear curtains to pull around the cars to contain the dust. I would imagine I could built a long narrow box to run the length of the curtain to house the filters???
Luckily I have a paint booth I can use at another location until I get ours set up. I am not looking forward to the permuting.

Yes I do plan on another gathering. I have not started planning it yet but at this point it would be a fall gathering. We had it in the spring last year but right now I just can't imagine planning something while we are close to the possibility of moving the shop.
I have not shown you guys the rest of the building but there is already a 1000 dedicated parts room and a loft with another 800 sq ft for storage. In addition there are commercial 5 tear pallet racks spanning 70 feet so there is a tremendous amount of storage already. What I have found is the more storage the more stuff you accumulate so I am going to be careful not to build more places to store stuff.

I checked out the Garmat website but they look expensive!!!! I am going to guess I am looking to spend in the $40K to $50K for a booth. Most of these companies do not post their prices so I am going to have to call. We now have a name which will be released soon and it is really really cool. I am very excited about the new name of the business!!
My plan is to keep this thread going. I am really attached to it and would like to keep it going. What do you guys think??

Haven't seen their booths first hand, I use them for shop supplies mostly (3M, Lord Fusor etc) & autobody tools (Martin, Durablock, Devilbiss spray guns etc). I'm not far from their LA distribution warehouse so if I order one day it's in my doorstep the next

Oh yes my mom called me this morning to tell me about it. I left early for the office and didn't catch the news. I guess quite a few Corvette guys in mourning today!!
We got our part done and it looked nice. I can't believe I didn't take any photos of the truck done! The truck was around here so long because of customer delays I couldn't wait to get it out of here. I ended up delivering the truck because I needed the garage space back. I had Deanna get some parting shots but unfortunately she was more interesting in getting a picture of me bent over operating the electric winch than the whole shot of the truck.
I almost feel exploited!!
It was a audio video company that provided sound systems for churches and concert centers. The big warehouse picture I share was once full of pallet racks from floor to ceiling. They must have once been a very big operation.

We got the Willys dash installed on Friday.
It looks really nice. Bob put some sheet metal on top of the console and we have to lay it out with all of the gauges tomorrow. 
I need to ask you guys a question. I will be moving one of my two post lifts to the new shop and it will most likely be used in the body shop area. I will need to buy a new 2 post them for the mechanic area. I have been very happy with my Gregg Smith Equipment lifts and for what I have been using them for I am sure they are fine. I was looking at the Benpak lifts and they are really nice. The angled posts allow a lot more access to open the doors when the car is on the lift. I can get the Bendpak XPR-10-168 Extra-Tall and Dual Wide 2-Post Lift for $3100 with no shipping costs. The Gregg Smith Atlas lift is $2300 but I am sure there is a few hundred in shipping cost. So we are looking at $600 difference. Which lift would you buy if you were looking for the better lift??
One thing to consider, and I am sure you have thought of it, would be warranty. Another is durability. Last thing I can think of at the moment is, do you have or expect to have any customers who would go somewhere else if they don't see a BendPak or Rotary lift? And, would you care?
If warranty is the same for both, and you have not had any issues with the GSE lift, why not save the $600 to use somewhere else.

Since I think one of the biggest disadvantage of a 2 post lift is just the lousy access to the door I would go with the Benpak.

Mark, I would check out some of the lifts that Greg Smith carries that have a 2 year hydraulic and 5 year structural warranty for not much more money.
If you don't mind spending a few more bucks, I would seriously seriously consider the Challenger CL10V3. It can be set up either wide or narrow and has 3-stage front and rear arms, so you can load it symmetrically or asymmetrically.
I did a TON of research before settling on my two post lift and decided to go Challenger, the CL10V3 is unlike every other lift in its price range in that it's MADE IN AMERICA!

OK OK, I get the hint!!!
We have been running full steam ahead. I can now officially say the offer was accepted on the building and we are within weeks of closing. I am excited and scared at the same time:eye crazy: The building is going to be so cool but I keep thinking of stuff I want to do to it. Just like the garage I want to do special things to it but I have to pace myself. We will either be closing the 25th of this month or March 5th. It just depends on if the survey gets done on time. My wife and I are taking my niece and her husband to Vegas next weekend and she tells me I can't think about the warehouse and what I am going to do to it while we are gone........RIGHT!!!We have been plugging away on 4 cars this week.......
We finally got the Nova mocked up and in final prime. We sent it out on Friday to have some custom headers made. It is going to cost $2000 to have headers built for the car plus the cost to jet hot coat them. The color was finally decided and it is going to be silver........we are very happy about the fact it is not going to be black!! Hopefully we start painting in a few weeks.
The Willys had been coming along great. Bob got the center console painted and it looks awesome. I am trying really hard to get some polished billet aluminum bezel covers for the Autometer gauges. I have trying ordering from Twist Machine but a lot of their stuff is back ordered. We really need some bling on those gauges. Today I built the side panels for the center console. I will get some pictures later but the beauty is they snap on the side of the console so access to the back of the gauges and wiring is easily accessible.
If you notice on the floorboard one of the panels is laying upside down with the clips exposed. In the second picture you will see the holes I drilled in the metal tables where these clips will lock the panel in place.
Dwayne has been blocking on the 68 Roadrunner and we have just started to play around with the 58 Corvette so lots of stuff going on right now. Cant wait to get to our new shop where we can spread out!!

Sweet work on that console. Yes, polished aluminum would make the bezels stand out. If there is no possible way to get them polished, then gloss black could also work and tie it to the center screen.

That console turned out very nice! I agree on the polished bezels also. Or do brushed throughout ( air vents) and leave the bezels brushed.

Yes the bank had an environmental done. They difinitely were not used to buyers like us. My wife retired a few years ago at 48 years old from commercial banking and has lots of contacts. She had the surveyer on site within 2 days after they signed the contract. I had 6 contractors on site to do all the inspections within the first 3 days. We kicked major **** and had our due diligence done in record time. I pretty much told the realtor I wanted to close ASAP so here we are closing within 3 weeks of going into contract on a bank owned commercial building.
