Somehow, that one does not look like an Asian import, despite the close similarities! that could be a rare find. I see no sign of filler, And the handles don't look plated..

Your GF is a definite keeper though! you **** for that, even if the vise IS an Import!

I don't care if Chinese vise or old US because if my bride brought home a couple hundred pound stand and a vise attached to it I wouldnt question it and just use it.
How in the heck did she get that in a BMW trunk ?

Here' to you for finding that gal.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Pretty sure it's an import, may be a little better than others. Google pictures show the handles chrome plated, that one is just worn LOL. I do like the stand though

My beer holders... I have been collecting them for a while. I am finishing up my e-tank setup so I can start the restoration process.

There is a 5th little guy in the background..

Today visited a dealer in used machines.
He had eight paramore No. 5 in stock.

Asked about the price: 125, - euro (170 U.S. dollars)
For me, just too much

Seeking calmly ...

There's a machine sales place not too far away that has these three vises for sale... He said $250 each, take my pick....

ARGH... Seriously?!?! It's so tempting to at least buy the first 4C in good shape. The 205R looks like it needs some TLC and the other 4C is missing jaws...

So tempting, at the very least I could re-sell on eBay and make some money and end up with some huge bases!!!

Anyone in Houston want a vise?

EOC.----Too many 4Cs is like too much money, too many guns, too many 67 Camaros, too much fun. At that price, should already be in your shop. An excellent outdoor vise. Just have to keep it covered.

So my girlfriend just brought this home in the trunk of her beemer :willy_nil

I've got an Olympic in the shop that's made in China and its got the same jaw design as this vise, in fact the rest of the vise looks pretty similar as well.

I'd buy that first 4c w/ stand for 250 in a heart beat.

You need the first 4C!!!

Hell, I need the first 4C....

I went today and bought them both. They looked better in person than the pictures made them out to be. Both had straight handles and the slides were pretty clean (not beat on)... There's wear around the jaws but that's just from the decades of use... The guy told me they came out of a closed-down DOW chemical plant here in town.

I just got them unloaded and still have to put stuff away. Will post pics either later or tomorrow...

Nice Jason, shucks half of Texas comes up here to vacation in Estes Park, I would love the one with no jaws. I could give you free room and board with your family if you want then you can see the Mountains, cost ya a 4C though. Nice find. I guess you would **** for having 4 of 4C's. Great job taking the $$ plunge, I am sure you will sleep good tonight.

nice find and glad those Reeds were still there when you decided to grab them. surprised the guy didn't throw in the third for a parts vise for you.

those stands look sweet. any idea how much each one weighs? are you keeping them or selling them with the 4C's that you are going to sell?

It's 75 and not muggy in the summer up here in Seattle if you want to take a road trip with one or both of the stands.

NICE!!!!

Your going to give the poor guy heart failure! :shocking:

When we ask "How wide are the jaws" We mean the width, not how much it can open.

These are the are the heaviest duty least used vises on the planet. Does anyone have a picture of a well used beat down one of these? I'm guessing the answer is no. I have a choice 4" that I'll never let go.

There was one on Eprey a while back: About as ugly as it gets.... :dunno:
