I had to work when they did the concrete. I got to see the footers dug but couldn't get a good pic.

There will be a sink, toilet, and even a urinal. My good buddy is a plumber so he hooked me up with the urinal for the shop.

The best I could do when I got home from work. Still wet but not enough to put me and the wifes name in it.

Time for my lumber package!

First Wall ready to go up.

We finally got it stood up, had to go get my wifes grandpa and his forklift.

There is 2- 12x12 doors. that header was very fun to get up.

I had some extra LVL so I made a big opening where my man door is going so if I ever decide to close in the open side I can open it back up and have a big walk through.

The lay out is a 30x40 shop and a 12x40 open carport on the right side. it is being built to look like my house so we call it the front porch.

Looking good!

Looks like y'all have some nice equipment to work with too. Much easier than using brute strength.

Looking good. How close to the Drag Strip are you?
I can be to the strip in 10 mins. we have set on the front porch and listened to the top fuel cars run.
Yes, It is nice to have some equipment around. Its all my wifes grandpa's and pretty wore out but it gets the job done. And its all right across the street so easy access.

What is your ceiling height and may I ask what your budget is? I am 30 miles from you. I would love to see it when you are finished. If this pesky ice and snow ever goes away.

Diesel Got to love this iron rich dirt we have here. It stains everything it touches.

There is #3 rebar in the footers. The concrete is 3200 psi with fiber poured 6" thick in the shop and 4" on the open part. The red dirt is very unique to the south, and like mentioned will stain and ruin everything. My walls are 14' with a bottom sill plate and double upper so it's a total of 14"5'. It is going to have a 12000 lift and I needed the height for that. Hope that helps and ask anything that you want.

Nice looking build! I see there is some headroom in the attic and it could be used for storage. Do you plan to add some stairs to get up there?

There is a touch over 8' in the center. I have stairs going up the back wall outside. I didn't want to take up space in the shop with the stairs, so I picked the expensive way. The plan is make a in law type suite up there some day, bathroom and maybe a kitchenette.

Wife got me my first sign for the shop. She is the best.

The sign is 30'x10''. I am a very big mopar man. When me and my wife were dating I talked her into trading her explorer for the new grand Cherokee, couldn't marry her with a ford product.

Started the 2 landing for the stairs going up the back wall. Im letting the painter com in and paint before we finish the steps so he can get the whole wall painted.

I like them on the back, haven't been caught in the rain needing something up there yet though. I do have some more done but got a new phone and lost the pictures I had. will work on taking some more and updating this in the next few days.
