..., non-ratcheting, besides Cornwell? Matco is Taiwan(?), Mac and Snap-On don't make them as far as I can tell, neither does Proto or Armstrong. Am I missing something? I remember a year or so ago someone was selling some US made MAC blems in Classifieds, I should have bought a set.

MACs went to Taiwan briefly, production returned to the US 2 or 3 years ago. Matco's are indeed made in Taiwan. All other things being equal i'd get the Cornwell or Snap-On mainly because im not a huge fan of the squared beam on the MACs, which are otherwise very nice. As far as Matco goes, may as well just buy some other Taiwan brand. If you're going to spend truck cash for that type of wrench from Matco get the fixed box/flex ratcheting version and you wont touch your standard versions again.

I'd like to see them released by Kabo. I've wondered why Kabo don't license this out to tool companies. No Matco presence in Aus.

You can buy reversible 12pt versions from KTC in Japan (also made by Kabo in Taiwan) but they cost ~$50US a wrench.

Probably made for domestic consumption. Everything is pricey in japan. 50 bucks a pop probably won't fly in the us without a retail partner.

Those wrenches will be under the "High Performance/Spline" heading; not the "Wrenches" heading; that's why most guys can't find them. And yes, you better believe those are made in USA. You can't get anymore USA than that.

Not sure what you mean by "domestic consumption". If you mean they're priced higher for export, the opposite is true primarily because Japanese prices include something similar to VAT. People outside Japan get the base list price without tax.
