I found some coupons I had printed off the harbor freight website and headed over there tonight. I got 6 free items and bought 2 pick sets, a pliers set, and a punch set to not be a complete ***. cool stuff!

I have that same punch set, they've worked well so far and to me is definitely one of those tools that the HF version can get the job done just as well as sets that cost 5x more.

punch placement is critical to ensure good results! i hope it works well. i bought a brass hammer from the harbor last week.

To be fair...if you're spending 2 bucks on a pick set that means it's as good as a 10 dollar pick set. That's valid.

I bought a decent set of us made punches from sears recently, took one out and bent the damn thing on the first strike. Just my luck. Better to bend than to break though.

Nah they just melt the returns down and use them to make more tools.

They might actually do this but probably aren't the only manufacturer that does it. Steel is steel.
