U.S. Plastic Corp. in the final word in USA-made garbage cans.

I have two of their products rescued from Dumpsters® over a decade ago.
Both now cracked, they yet remain servicable, and sport copper-wire stitching up the sides.

Sorry, no pictures, but I also use old drums for the trash. A buddy gave me a couple of Quaker Stae drums from the shop he works in.

All I have right now is your standard 30 gallon plastic can.

Does anyone remember watching Home Improvement? On there they had a 55 drum with the Binford Tools logo on it. Sometime soon I want to try to paint a drum and put the logo on it. I think it would be pretty cool

When I was in boot camp we took turns standing firewatch at night. To stay awake, we used the cotton waste polish to shine the drill instructor's brand new galvanized trash can. Long time ago, so no pictures, but I always thought I might do one for myself one day. Those cans looked like they had been chromed.

What is "cotton waste polish"?

One brand name is "Never-Dull" which is available at some auto or farm stores. It is a fiber material saturated with metal polish and will shine just about anything metal. It took two weeks per can polishing from 2200 hrs til 0600 hrs every night and that is why I haven't done one myself!

I know what Never Dull is. I'd never heard it referred to as "cotton waste polish". That's a new one on me.

Of all the "how to do" posts I have made, the second most popular one ever at 8500 views is "Please recommend an excellent trash can". It's funny, I did that one in 2011 and I still haven't found trash cans to replace my old ones. Maybe some day...

The two I have is a quaker state 20 gallon can and my triangular eagle industry safety can. The safety can has a UL brass tag on the lid.

Where are you guys finding the Mobil, Quaker State, etc barrels that are serving as your trash can?

I have a buddy that works at a dealership, but they get all their oil in plastic drums. The guys here selling drums/barrels only have plain painted versions -- none with logos.
