How do you guys figure out which side is forward and reverse on the non switchable ratchet wrenches? I haven't been using mine long enough to develop that third sense. Any tips besides grabbing it and spinning it?

My flexheads have light serration on one side. There's also which way the open end is pointing on the combos. I use mine every day, and I still can't remember which is what for more than a couple minutes.

On some of my KD era stuff I just used an automatic center punch to mark forward from reverse.

offset of the open end is facing the direction of rotation.

You push/pull on the longer side, where the open end hangs down a little further.

I have a nearly unconscious habit of testing it with my finger on the way to the fastener. Just one click and it's set in my mind somehow.

This is what i do. Plus my gearwrench flex heads have a seated edge on the one side letting me know what's what.

Some brands have arrows on the box end to show you.

Craftsman's are like that too...

I figured all brands had a direction arrow.

They ought to color one side red or stamp them. I'll try the open end orientation. I'm going to start using them in the shop soon so I'm sure I'll get used to em real quick
