My initial thought is a bank of drawers. Maybe some drawers and an open shelved cabinet section? It's 53" tall, 23"wide and 16" deep. I can add drawer slides and build some drawers out of either 1/8" aluminum, or 12ga satin coat steel.
It was originally a breaker cabinet off the side of a CAT C18 generator. I don't think wheels are a good idea, because of the limited footprint x height. I think it'd be a bit tippy.

Anyone have any other ideas?

How about a portable tool box? Just bolt it to a larger base with castors and add drawers for your tools?

I vote for a display cabinet. If you collect sports stuff you can make some shelves and use a piece of lexan for a door. It looks to be in very good condition. Or you can use it as bottle storage in the garage. Add some shelves and you can put your oil, chemicals, and other type stuff in it.

I have also thought of a " better than nothing" flammables locker

As stated above... Display case or flammable material case. Or... if it was me, I would probably make a locker to hang coats and other gear in!

I guess it depends on how much work you want to put into it. If you turned it on its side and fabbed up a center support it would make a cool "cart". Fab up drawers and a top put some casters on it....done!

Other than that; the first thing I thought of was powder coat oven.

If you have the desire to build drawers, that would be something we don't see done too often and would be a good project to post about on here.

When I first see it, I envision it going 90 degrees and becoming a puller / tool storage cabinet. Possibly with Lexan insert doors. And maybe laterally sliding perforated tool boards.
Thanks for sharing.

Target stand. Paper on the top, ******* on the bottom.

For storage mount it to the wall horizontal add shelves if you like. Do you have the covers? It looks like it was gasketed. If you still have the covers a few hinges would probably be easy to weld on for doors.

Thanks for the input guys:beer: my shop is really tiny and a total mess. Storage is one thing I'm very short on, so it won't be sacrificed to any kind of display cabinet. I don't have the covers, as they got transferred to the generator that this box extension came off of. I can make some aluminum ones easy enough tho. Trying to justify it as the best use of space vs. the space I need most.

I've always wanted a locker for coats and gear, but I think it's a bit shallow, and I know myself... It would only ever be 1/2 full yet a total mess and no way to find anything.

A horizontal cabinet on the wall would be nice, but again, organization always seems to leave that type of shelved cabinet with tons of wasted space. The box itself also does not lend itself to attaching shelves to the "ends" as they are just single layer bolted on.

Powder coat oven! I like that! Stopped me in my tracks. Need more research on guts for it. Do. I just strip out an old electric oven?

Flammables locker- easiest option, and I could fill it as soon as it had shelves

Drawers- I envision a mini Lista cabinet. I can build the drawers easily enough, and likely nearly for free. I'd have to buy slides. Hand tool storage truly is what I'm in need of the most, as my big chest is at work. I currently work out of an old 24" top box, a cheap carry tool box with three little drawers and three small wooden drawers. This would be the most involved project though, and I have no shortage of projects. Someday, I'd like to work in the shop instead of on the shop
