Vs

72" US General roll cab with 18 drawers = $1,000

Can't see spending $11,000 for a box that does the same damn thing as a box that's just as big and does the same exact thing as one for $1,000....

What y'all think? :eyecrazy: :dunno:

No one pays 11000 for that box, and they are targeting different clients. The only thing the same is they are a tool box and they are red in the picture.

Why buy a Jaguar XF when you can buy a Hyundai Elantra? They'll both get you there, they do they same thing, right?

The harbor freight box is not as big, and will not do the same things. Try standing in a harbor freight box drawer and jump up and down in it. I've watched my snapon dealer do that, and he's about 6'5, 350lbs.

It's not meant to stand in the drawer and jump on like a trampoline.... It's a tool STORAGE device

They both hold tools!!!!

You could buy a rolex, or buy a watch at dollar general. You could buy a Daewoo or a Corvette. You could buy a trailer in the sticks or a mansion in the hills. You could watch tv in a lawn chair or in a nice lazy boy recliner. All those things accomplish the same task right? That's whats so great, people can buy whatever they want ;)

You're right.... By all means buy whatever YOU want.... But why? When you can get basically the same thing for 1/10th of the price

Only half of that statement is true. Yes its a 1/10 of the price but they are not the same. Yes its a metal box that holds tools. This is true. But the drawer, slide, and box construction are light years apart. I have every bit of 600-700 pounds of sockets in the top drawer of my snap-on krl1033 and that drawer glides smoth as butter. Doesnt bend or rack. Try that with a harbour frieght tool box. Try even standing on one of the drawers fully extended let me know what happens.

Now is this worth 10x the price? Not neccisarily. Are they different? Yes in every aspect imaginable. Only thing these two boxes have in common is they are both red and they both are tool boxes. Thats about it.

A 1023 has more than 1.5x the usable space and a significantly higher load rating. You may want to consider comparing the specs and not just the pictures.

Here's my take: there's nothing wrong with a Harbor Freight box for your personal use in the home garage. No one I actually know using a HF box as a pro really wants it though. It wasn't their dream to declare bankruptcy, to have too many kids bills, or get a bad divorce and wind up stuck in cheap tools.

This has been interesting, but not too realistic------for me anyway. When I'm looking for a new tool or whatever, one of the first things I decide is how nice or what quality I really want or need and how often I'll use the toy-----I mean TOOL----in question. This will automatically eliminate a huge majority of the others!

In this toolbox example, if you wanted a high-end quality box, most guys wouldn't be considering the Harbor Freight to begin with. And if you were so tight on funds (or just a tightwad!) that you were considering Harbor Freight, then the Snap-On sure wouldn't be in the running! So you'd look at reasonable possibilities in between these two.

I'm really not comparing the boxes by what they can do or what not.... I'm comparing the prices bro.... $11,000 is just freaking stupid for the bottom roll cab by itself.... Add a top box or hutch and a couple side boxes or side lockers and we might do some talking then.... But for the bottom roll cab by itself??? HELL TO THE NO!!!!!!!
Don't get me wrong... SnapOn is damn good stuff and I got some SnapOn stuff but there is no way in hell I'm gonna pay more money for a bottom box than I paid for my house...(paid $10,000 for my house)

There's a good chance you could put $100,000 worth of Snapon tools in this $10,000 tool box so the price really doesn't seem that far out of place. I know you could hypothetically fill a $1k HF box with $10k in tools from HF too. Its all about the investment you're willing to make and the satisfaction you get out of it.
