Was on the MAC truck yesterday. He had new 90 tooth ratchets with the same handle as their new screwdrivers. They also have new double jointed long pliers and hose pliers. Some other good stuff, as well. Time to spend some cash.

Did he actually have a physical ratchet? I was just speaking with my guy and he said it would be a few months before they would be shipping...He was supposed to get a couple Demo rats to show off, but probably be May-June before he had some for sale.

He had demos in 1/4 and 3/8. None for sale yet.

gearwrench makes double joint pliers as well, they may not be made in the US but they are crazy handy to have, as for the ratchets I may be adding them to the new box as soon as they bring em in!

Yep this is the dist for our area, 96th street, all the way to i70 and post road, think he can go all the way north too. He has a giant area because no other Mac dealers exist. Can't even make it to most of the area each week.

I just looked at the gearwrench ones. I can't be positive, but these looked different. I only had a quick look. They looked like the might flex like a flex ratchet. Not positive though.

The new 90T's are supposed to start shipping by the end of next month.

They appear to be a dual pawl variation of the current Proto 45T premium pear head mechanism. If so, they will no doubt be awesome.

You know, as much as I love Mac, I don't think I'll be jumping in on this one just yet. I have the Carlyle 90T ratchet, and I give that thing absolute hell and it has not failed on me. Just bought the Carlyle swivel-head, and I expect the same performance from it, too. But hot damn those comfort handles look super nice on these new ratchets. I'll end up buying one or two eventually, most likely!

I do love my Mac tools that I do have... I have a Mac air hammer and chisels, a Mac OBD scanner (got it for $50 used from my dealer, awesome buy), a hook and pick set, and a pair of plastic clip/plastic rivet pullers. I love the handles on the hook and pick set and the plastic clip pullers. I kind of want to buy a box of just the handles and put them on all my tools!

With my job change, I will have a Mac guy again, I'm hoping with them seeing the errors in their ways, that the truck is something close to the late 90's and not the sad POS of '07. Those new ratchets need the classic Mac red hard handles.
